It helped, it made him cool, it's not the reason he's famous and you keep trying to say that I did, when I didn't. Plenty of rappers need a "thing", being that tough muscular guy who survived 9 shots is one of the things that separated him from the pack. It's one of the first things you think of when you hear his name.

50 Cent was first buzzing after being on the 8 Mile soundtrack in late '02. But at that time, anytime 50 Cent was mentioned, being shot 9 times came along with it. The shooting definitely helped generate buzz.

As far as people saying The Game played no role in 50's downfall, I disagree. It'd be foolish to compare it to what 50 did to Ja Rule's career. But Game definitely put a sizable dent in 50's image. 300 Bars, Ghost Unit, the whole G-Unot movement .. all that caught a lot of peoples attention and had people talking.

He was buzzing before that. He was put on to that after the shady deal.

Games tracks may have done some damage. But it really wasn't that significant. Game fans drooled over them. But making mixtapes and songs about one man just to keep buzz seemed a bit desperate. It seemed like game could get hype by just saying f--- 50 and he used this to his advantage.

Of course it helped. But this is mainly after the deal. You're vastly underestimating how popping 50 was before the deal and that's my main issue.

I'm really not. Being popular in New York is much different. He WAS popping, but in the NY rap scene, not the whole country, but that's not an insult. It was the early 2000's, s--- wasn't as accessible as it is now.

You can make the argument for a bunch of different cities. Again, I will say that I agree with you both, and don't see too much differences in opinion here, just the underrating of his comeup and the overrating of his pre-blow up stage. He was popular. He wasn't a superstar or anything. But, he was popular in NY. Some of NY. I'd imagine it's pretty divisive down there.

Tbh i cant even recall any lines from the Game disses. As far as the beef goes im still pretty sure most people were team 50. Id even say that Game wouldnt even have a career if it wasnt for 50 and the 50 disses
