Jan 19, 2017 we got 10 teams total and new york city aint big theres alot of ppl but it aint big i forgot the soccer team in the orginal list
Jan 19, 2017 That's just one sports code for us though. As well as that we've got two soccer teams, a rugby team and at least one basketball team
Jan 19, 2017 I would say Football, but we're a small Virginia town so everyone pretty much either likes The Redskins (me) or The Cowboys (eww) You may find a Giants, Packers, or Steeler fan here somewhere. Oh Yea..Patriots have a lot of fans here too, it all depends really
Jan 19, 2017 In Dubuque and CF it's a lil different, but generally all 1. Football - Packers and Vikings. Everywhere. Quite a few Chiefs, Bears, or Cowboys fans though. The Hawkeyes are huge here too. 2. Basketball - More college than anything. Iowa, Iowa State, Northern Iowa (swag) 3, Baseball - CUBS. f---ing CUBS. Lil bit of Cardinals.
Jan 19, 2017 Football E: just skimmed through thread...some might call it soccer but football = Spoiler americans now
Jan 19, 2017 I'd say it actually goes Eagles Flyers Phillies Sixers Eagles for obvious reason. Then flyers because they sell out every game no matter what, and the Phillies are always ranked in the top 10 in attendance even when we s---. But when the sixers s--- literally no one goes. Also the big 5 in college basketball takes away basketball fans prioritizing the sixers. Edit: just to be clear Philly loves all their sports teams, we're not Miami or LA.
Jan 19, 2017 Adelaide 1: Aussie Rules 2: Cricket 3: Football/Soccer 4: Basketball Tennis/Motorsports/Cycling are also pretty popular, but for a very short period of the year. I would put Basketball above them because it's a popular sport to play and a lot of people follow the NBA
Jan 21, 2017 Toronto: 1. Hockey - Leafs (will always be Toronto's major sport) 2. Baseball - Jays (Canada's Team) 3. Basketball - Raptors (imo almost tied with jays in popularity) 4. Soccer - Toronto FC (Gained a lot of popularity past 3 years) 4. Football - Argonauts (lol @ CFL)
Jan 21, 2017 Its been Pats > Sox for a while now. Didn't used to be that way even in the early 2000's when the Pats had already won twice, the Sox were still bigger. But that's changed starting with the undefeated (regular) season imo. Also would have said Bruins > Celtics, but thats starting to shift towards the Celtics as the Bruins are an absolute dumpster fire. But when the Bruins were winning a cup and getting to another, I would say they were bigger in the city then when the Celtics big 3 era. Nobody really ever gave a f--- about College sports, even in the Troy Bell days when they were making tourney runs or when Matt Ryan was here. Yea its a college hockey town, but that still takes a back seat to all pro sports outside of the Beanpot maybe. Don't even consider MLS soccer, because on a global level that s--- is the D-League.
Jan 21, 2017 I only put college sports to show how dead our soccer team is because rhode island and connecticut care most about college sports in New England. Bruins management running the team into the ground currently so Celtics > Bruins I still believe beantown to be more of a baseball city than football but to each his own
