Dec 3, 2017 What was The Eminem Show like? I bet it wasn’t bad, especially not being let down when hearing it the first time, lol
Dec 3, 2017 Lol I’m probably older than most here. For Eminem it was a little bit for SSLP as that was around the time I first got online etc. But otherwise I guess I followed the rollout more for the MMLP. I was mainly on the Bodyrott Eminem forum back then, also on D12World. For album rollouts in general we are talking long before the internet, when your main sources of information were Yo MTV Raps, rap magazines and just going to record stores to see what’s out. I miss them days, taking the train in to Stockholm to check out a few record stores, listen through a few albums and if you buy something you would read through the cd book/leaflet on the train back home. I remember seeing the Chronic on the shelves not even knowing Dre was releasing a solo album lol. So yeah, that’s how old I am.
Dec 3, 2017 Encore. I heard TES a year before then revisited SSLP and MMLP after. I ate Encore up when it came out but once Curtain Call came out I realized Encore was trash and dude was either retiring falling off or about to die
Dec 3, 2017 yeah I remember the roll out for Infinite. Seeing Eminem stood at the boot of his car got me hyped af
Dec 3, 2017 Eminem Show... that was crazy. I remember all the hooks leaked and everybody was hyped. Superman Hook and Halie's Song hook is what got me really excited. it sounded like nothing I ever heard from Eminem before. The Stimulate hook was leaked and not Say Goodbye Hollywood. Then the album leaked and there was no Stimulate. Best leaked album i could remember... I think people were bumping it 2 weeks before it was released but the download numbers were crazy
Dec 3, 2017 With MMLP I remember hearing k--- You and Who Knew on the radio before the album came out.
Dec 3, 2017 First forum rollout was Encore on Trshwdy.com. First rollout I remember was MMLP. Em was EVERYWHERE on MTV
Dec 3, 2017 I think the rollouts now are better... First we got Eminem doing a big interview in The Source. This is the one he references on The Sauce. He talked about how he had an album coming, the Nas vs. Jay-Z beef, etc. About a month later we got the hook to Without Me as a snippet. And then soon after all the hooks leaked as tracks that were the exact length of the actual album tracks. "Without Me" premiered on the radio on a Friday afternoon, iirc. At least here in Portland it did. Then the video debuted on MTV's "Making the Video." The entire album leaked in early May, even though it wasn't supposed to hit stores until June. They ended up moving the release up like two weeks.
Dec 3, 2017 I guess technically BmE but really MMLP2 on SL. Compared to this SL was a shithole, but it was a fun ride
Dec 3, 2017 MMLP2 was the first rollout I experienced on like, a forum. that was fun. Relapse I kind of experienced just by going to the Eminem site and seeing the We Made You announcement also King Mathers used to have a site that I'd check every few weeks to see if anything happened lol
Dec 4, 2017 I remember waiting for SSLP to come out, it was a week or so before my 15th birthday... for some bizarre reason my parents got me it, the special edition too with the 2nd cd being full of acapellas. A friend had some cd mixing decks so we used to f--- around mixing the greg acapella with whatever else was in the charts at that time... As for being online waiting for something to drop, it must have been MMLP and I was a member on (as someone earlier mentioned) aftermathmusic.com and I think rapgodfathers possibly. I think RNS got hold of the album very early and leaked it via FTP. Same happened for the Eminem Show which I still have on an old backup HDD. Eminem-The_Eminem_Show-2002-RNS good times...
Dec 4, 2017 Use that internet time machine thingy and look at eminem.com for all the album promotions.
