    I was going to do the same as you and wait a year, but I'm getting $550 for my P7P in the trade in, and a free pixel watch 2 which I'll just put on eBay which will make it pretty cheap. It's been getting good reviews so far but we'll see. Funny enough my P7P battery has been great the last week since the android 14 update

    Mine has also been wayyyy better. Buty mobile data keeps on disconnecting now which is REALLY annoying. Hopefully the next parch will fix that.

    Let me know what the 8 is like when you get it please. Their pre order deals are always really good.

    I don't think they're that bad. I've used both iPhone and Android in the past and they both have their pros and cons. But I ended on Android because I found them to be far more customisable (which actually isn't so much of a perk as I get older!).

    I keep thinking that one day I'll go back to the iPhone to see the difference but I'm so embedded in the Google ecosystem now it would be a nightmare. I have the Pixel, Pixel Buds, Pixel Watch and a Chrome laptop (which is s--- btw) and I'll probably end up with a Pixel tablet in a couple of years when they've released a few new versions of it.

    I've used iPhone too and it was the worst phone ever lol. Constantly buying a new charger once a month because for some reason they always stopped charging the battery. Even the expensive ones would die out within 5 weeks.

    Android is definitely better imo. Would never go back to iPhone now.

    If we're being real, for the average person almost every smart phone is basically the same for all intents and purposes lol it's really just a matter of preference with the UI etc.

    I agree tho. Neither are perfect & they’ve both had their share of the top spot throughout different generations, these days the improvements from both have levelled out more than ever & now it’s more about the ecosystem, battery & software support.

    yeah it's just one of those things I don't get why people even argue about. they're all fine lol. like you said I've stuck with an iPhone just cuz I'm used to it at this point, but I'd be willing to make the switch to a different phone in the future if it for some reason had features that made it worth it to me

    I do kinda miss the flip phone days when they came out with so many different f----- up phones and each one felt like new technology. And also cuz they didn't have internet access capabilities worth using and actively ruin my attention span lol. I remember using the internet on a flip phone exactly one time in high school (tho I think this would have been after the iPhone debuted actually) to look up movie times when I was out and about and it took forever and probably cost my folks like $10 lol

    Cheap Apple se. I’m looking for a serious upgrade. My last job phones would break in a pocket even with a otter box or whatever. Now I’m not doing that I’m into looking for something a lot better.

    I've had it for a few days now. I like it. Battery has been really good, but it's new so we'll see how that holds out after a few months. Charging time seems a bit faster as well but not by much. It's definitely better than P7P but nothing ground breaking where I would have switched this year if I didn't get it for the price I did with trade in and the Pixel watch 2. The new AI camera features look kind of cool but not sure how much I'll use them. If you can get a good trade in deal that makes sense I would upgrade, if not just wait for the 9

    which iPhone SE do you have? I’ve got the 2020 one and besides the terrible battery I think it’s a good phone when you keep in mind the price for it. I’m a casual user though. For someone who uses their phone a lot I can definitely see them getting annoyed/frustrated with it

    what do you think of the SE?

    I've missed the opportunity of any of their crazy pre order deals so I'm definitely sticking with the 7 for this year. At least that way the 9 should feel like an actual upgrade though.

    I use the magic eraser sometimes - it's quite good. It seems their "AI" stuff is pretty much stuff they've had before but it's labelled with the "in word"; AI.

    @Worm how's your Pixel going? I'm having a few issues with mine around 5G connectivity. Really pissing me off.

    Already claimed once on the insurance and the replacement one is pretty much the same. Reddit seems to have quite a few people suffering the same problem and the workaround is to switch 5G off which is utter BS.
