Jan 8, 2024 posted my thoughts on encore recently - i won’t point any blame at rapbasement as far as why he scrapped this and made those dumb joke songs, even though i should, but i’m really hoping he rereleases this with this exact tracklist for the anniversary this year. maybe even with when i’m gone and smack that as well. would be one of his top 5 albums easy, and this is the version in em’s head when he says it’s better than relapse and he’s right
Jan 8, 2024 Can’t defend Encore by saying he has another version in his head and that’s better than a certain album lol. Album was poor and the album you rate or got, is the one we heard. That’s it. I can make every album he has ever released, be a better version of the one we heard but that would just be for my preference. Can’t rank albums by your own versions of them.
Jan 8, 2024 well when you’re on 100 valium a day and your fan club leaks the real version you prolly start to not think straight so i like to allow a little concession for that in encore’s case. but mmlp2 and revival, for example, while lyrically good, are total trainwrecks sonically. and i make no excuse for that despite him recording over 100 songs for each of those albums lol
