Dude chill the f--- out. You having a seizure or something?
I like some meme rappers and almost all popular rappers. I was just saying that there are some rappers that are directly associated with meme music man. For example vanilla ice or LIL b

There's literally like 1 popular rapper that matches that description: desiigner. If you think anyone else who's popular is copying them you either haven't listened to the music enough to differentiate styles or you're counting struggle rappers with like 6 downloads on their mixtape.

Also, if everyone sounding like each other is such a bad thing I'd like to introduce you to 90s new York rap, aka nas, biggie, wu, and the 70 artists who are a variation of the 3.

Also had Late Registration, Grad (Ye vs. 50 sales battle), T.I. Run, Jeezy's run, Lupe's first two albums. 2005-2009 just gets a bad rep for the "ringtone era" but it wasn't really that bad

Lol I hate the term "meme rap". You can make fun music without it "being a meme"

So relevant means good? I mean I hate dudes like designer but love future. I get that they are relevant and 14 year olds think they are gangsta when they scream I GOT BROADS IN LONDON but I don't see the appeal.

However, maybe it is different because I live in Europe, thanks for not being harsh towards me bud

By that metric, mustangs are meme cars, Michael Jordan is a meme athlete, and Hillary Clinton is a meme politician.

And if you can say any of those terms and not die of embarrassment on the spot I have no respect for you.

I know I know, Yeezus, Fifty etc. were great back then (Kanye still is), but it was like you've said - ringtone era - there wasn't a lot of classic albums

By the way I have to say I have the same problem with old school rap that sounds the same, that's why I listen to my music on shuffle 90% of the time, I like diversity, a lot. Main reason I like Kanye and Jay so much.

I'm using trap now because it's everywhere and slowly I'm getting tired of hearing the same or similar beats again as I said in another thread.

Never said relevant means good, although I'd argue that there's a significant cancerous portion of rap fans who would argue the opposite (relevant means bad.) I'm saying like in general when I hear people say meme rap they mean yachty death grips thug etc all great artists with crazy youth followings but dismissive older ppl hear it and see a dozen guys jamming it on the forum and dismiss it as memes because they're not around the actual tangible fans, which isn't a good mindset because you're letting the Internet skew your perception of reality.
