    Also had Late Registration, Grad (Ye vs. 50 sales battle), T.I. Run, Jeezy's run, Lupe's first two albums. 2005-2009 just gets a bad rep for the "ringtone era" but it wasn't really that bad

    There was a time where Bow Wow, Lil Romeo, Shop Boyz, Mims, Hurricane Chris, Chingy & Soulja Boy were everywhere. That was a the most depressing time for rap. Rap became bubble gum p---- music while dressing like a man that just lost 140lbs but still wears his old clothes.


    I don't hate any of them, just stating facts.

    this popped up in my head before anything. like a bazillion artists were copying it & butchering it to death. Probably (if im correct) cause pre 808s/like 2007 there wasnt as much goin on in terms of trends so when that next big thing happened everyone got rly excited cause there was somethin new & decided to copy it. I mean autotune & that style existed for a loooong a--- while before 808s but yea people rly started to overdo it afterwards. So much corny music around that time that aged like hot dog buns
