Jun 30, 2015 We all discuss Eminem. But we don't discuss what he means to us. What kind of associations you make with his music and your life? Why do you still want to hear new stuff from him? This is my personal example: It was my senior year of high school. Parties, girls, gossips, excitement for college, me making another mixtape with my friends, performing on the graduation party. In February, I decided to find some new music and saw "Not Afraid" on YouTube. At first I thought - too much yelling. But then, I really started digging the song. Downloaded it. Listened to it a lot while walking to school. Then I bought "Recovery" at Target, my first Eminem CD. Started listening to songs, but at first they hurt my ears from all the yelling. "Not Afraid" was an association between me growing up and getting into the real world as an adult. "Love The Way You Lie" inspired me to ask a girl to prom because it gave me the vibe "dude, such thing can only happen once in your life". She said yes. It was awesome. I listened to that song more after. It was all over the radio. Space Bound is one of the most amazing tracks since Em's comeback. The first verse was so simple that I memorized it and could make a cover to it. Very personal, too. Five years later, Recovery seems to be the really well put together album. MMLP2 sounds very enforced and lacks cohesiveness Recovery has. It was all new style, including the way he dresses. Now he's dressing really out of fashion. What about you? Any stories from life like that?
Jun 30, 2015 Was just on my young, not give a f--- stage when SSLP came out so the music got with my lifestyle. Now I guess nostalgia takes over.
Jun 30, 2015 I got into Eminem's music when I was real little but I didn't really understand and appreciate it until I revisited it in my early adolescence. I would just like the beats he was on and his flow when I was little. He was the first artist that made me appreciate lyricism. I'd play his witty s--- when I was happy. I'd play Kim, As The World Turns, The Way I Am, Soldier etc when I was angry. It really helped me through my angsty teenage years. Rock Bottom, If I Had, Sing For The Moment, and Beautiful makes me cry evry tiem I grew to like other rappers when he was on his hiatus and I haven't been strictly an Em stan since like 2007 but I still kept up with his new s---. I remember when he appeared on BET to perform his verse on the Touch It verse. I had hella goosebumps. His music since he came back in 2009 hasn't been as good as his golden years but there's always glimpses of his prime self that makes me not give up on him. He's 42 and is still lyrically one of the best in the game. His music isn't as enjoyable but he's still spittin. I enjoy and appreciate his modern stuff for what it is and I still have faith that he can churn out one more classic. He's one of the GOATs and probably my favorite rapper of all time. He will always be in my heart. The legend of the angry blonde will live through me when he's gone for good
Jun 30, 2015 Eminem's been one of the biggest influences in my life, more so than my father. When Eminem went diamond, I went diamond, when Proof died I cried, when Em was on a hiatus, I went on a hiatus from life, I think you guys get the point. His music has gotten through some tough times and inspired me to keep going, if it wasn't for the Rap God, I don't think I'd be here today.

Jul 1, 2015 Eminem's music helped save my self. So I'll always have a high level of respect for that man.
