Nov 6, 2017 When your brain turns off there will be nothing, simple as that- like before you were born . I think its hard for humans to comprehend nothingness because all we know is consciousness.
Nov 6, 2017 Nothing, it's the end of your consciousness. The same thing you experience when you sleep except you don't dream and never wake up.
Nov 6, 2017 Are you Christian etc? Interesting that you believe in god but not afterlife as usually the 2 go hand in hand.
Nov 6, 2017 I know a lot of people that are Christians and don't believe in an afterlife. They just believe in God and align their views with Christianity. Like I'm an atheist and think there might be such a thing as ghosts, kinda uncommon but it's different for everyone.
Nov 6, 2017 You get sent up to heaven where you are greeted by god & he makes you an angel and you are surrounded by your loved ones who passed away before you.
Nov 6, 2017 Yeah but I don't get why tbh. Well I'm christian to the point of moral guiding, community etc I believe in God cause I have the feeling that certain things come back at you. Like karma, you know what I mean. I think there is "something" (let's call it God) that pulls the strings of "uncontrolled" happenings. I believe everything happens for a reason Maybe I just believe it cause I want to believe it but either way it helps me to do the right thing. I believe in God cause it gives me a line that I can hold on to while in the shadows of life (sounds corny but I think it's a beautiful metaphor) Everything I learn, everything I experience has a meaning to me and manifests in my consciousness. It's not even about, if God exists or not, it's about having a medium that I can turn to even when I'm alone. So I'm never alone that's God for me, my believe A heaven is one step too much for me. I have absolutely NO reason to believe in that. God is not a figure with a face, or a fact for me, I don't believe that the bible is in any kind of way helping us to find the truth but to help each of us find our own faith which helps us and gives us even this "line" I was talkin about. I believe in God cause I feel it, not cause somebody showed me the way. I found God again after I totally stopped with anything I picked up at church as a kid. You could say, I learned about God, dropped it cause I didn't felt it and than really found him. Heaven didn't come back to me... (yet, maybe) who knows
Nov 6, 2017 Maybe that feeling, that sphere in my mind that I call God is just my sub conscious you can call it that too, it's just a label, it does not matter Ya'll get what I'm saying? I believe the bible was written by people who saw what believe can do to people and how it can manifest and they wanted to control it. They wanted to write a "instruction" on how to control your believe without creating a disaster. People misuse it TO THIS DAY I'm not even talking about bad people but your average everyday christian who doesn't get the meaning of these teachings. That's why people have such a strange look on God, they think it is a big man in the sky that welcomes you after death, like a hotel check in but holy The bible says "You shall not make idols" not every idol is materialistic, people so chill and think sorry for preaching but I just wanted to complete my thought
