Assuming this is a serious Joey post, how’s the AWD? I’ve always wanted to drive an outback in the snow and see for myself

I've had very few problems with mine—my battery got shot once from August Texas heat which I'm sure you're very familiar with lol. I'm not super knowledgeable about cars so I forget what exactly I've had replaced but I'm pretty sure it was the alternator I had to get replaced in 2015 and then in 2018 I had to put a few thousand into it (including the shot battery) for a few different things, I think the timing belt was one of them cuz I believe that was the year I hit 100k. But there will almost always be a time that you have to drop a few racks on a car for upkeep no matter what it is. Other than those two situations I haven't had any problems and I've driven 10s of thousands of miles worth of roadtripping in all sorts of weather.

Lmao yeah the humidity really f---s batteries up. Sounds like you got a solid car though! Definitely leaning towards Honda or Toyota for my next car.

Is your engine transversely mounted (horizontal in the engine bay) or vertically like most other cars?If you don’t know it’s cool, I’m just curious because I know Honda does that for select models.

I honestly have it on CD. These things still come with a CD player in the center console.

It’s phenomenal imo. That’s why I got it since I drive in snow 9 months out of the year. I’ve driven the Audi AWD and the Mercedes AWD in crazy snow and ice but nothing compares to the outback. It grips the best and is able to handle deeper snow. This car pretty much drives itself though which is sweet and makes highway driving a f---ing breeze.
