Oct 28, 2023 I finally started watching the Wednesday Netflix show. It’s kind of worrying how much I relate to her.
Nov 20, 2023 People were expecting a straight adaptation of the comics and it is not that, though I personally really appreciate that every version of this story is different to some extent. Most of the voice cast returning from the movie does well, the music by the composers of the videogame is great as per usual from Anamanguchi, the animation from Science Saru is stellar, a lot of stylish flair and funny dialogue. Everyone clearly had a ball working on it and it's infectious. Solid 8/10 for me but I recommend at least watching the movie first before diving into it, It's a really good Edgar Wright movie and I think the added context helps. ONE MAJOR COMPLAINT, THEY DIDN'T USE THIS b-----r. IT'S ONE OF THE BEST THINGS BRIE LARSON HAS DONE:
Nov 29, 2023 Watched the family business it was good for being mostly side drama of a drug empire instead of like narcos. Looking for a new show I have to get into it by middle of episode 2 so not much patience.
Dec 15, 2023 Watched a few (short) tv shows last couple of weeks: Biohackers A german show about a girl that 'infiltrates' medical school to get the truth and revenge on the woman that killed her parents. I have no idea how to describe it, parts reminded me of Orphan Black but its not close to it. It was fun though! Second German Netflix show I really like. 8/10 Brand New Cherry Flavor Just one thing: it literally makes zero sense, the ending has no real closure and the characters are all weird and kinda unlikable... but it was entertaining. Its about (black) magic, hollywood and lots of weird stuff. 7/10 Paradise This is a Netflix film, no show. Its German. The story is about a world where people can pay eachother (and debts) in life years. Its a futuristic/scifi movie but also touches on many moral dilemma's and -already excisting- technological threats. The best way to describe it a 2 hour long episode of Black Mirror except with a little more depth. 7.7/10
Jan 11, 2024 Not Netflix originals but I watched a couple movies on there The Nice Guys (7.5-8/10): Fun 70s cop homage movie, lot of good jokes and Ryan Gosling is great in it. Easily the best Shane Black movie I've seen since both Iron Man 3 and his Predator movie s---. La La Land (9/10): I'm not usually a person that goes out of their way to watch musicals let alone like them, but I've seen Damien Chizelle's first movie Whiplash a long time ago and was thinking about how much I loved it again recently and decided to give this a shot. This feels like an ode to old classic musicals in the best possible way. The songs, the acting, the choreography, the use of color in the lighting, the camera work, all the way down to the editing are all a team of highly skilled people at the absolute top of their game. Think it maybe dragged a tiny bit but everything was there for a reason and shouldn't be cut. Now I need to watch his other two movies First Man, and Babylon. I've heard mixed things about Babylon but am more and more interested in forming my own opinion about it the more I watch this guy's movies.
Jan 11, 2024 if i weren’t so lazy i would photoshop a cover but fboy island should lowkey do an epstein island edition. would watch
Jan 21, 2024 I watched episode 1 of The Boys on Prime Video last night and it’s pretty good, I need to keep watching! I need to start watching Succession on Max again… I started watching months ago but stopped in the middle of season 1. I’m also thinking of watching Unbelievable on Netflix since it has Kaitlyn Dever in it.
Jan 24, 2024 On season 2 of The Boys. This is epic, and I’m hoping to finish the whole show before season 4 comes out.
