    @Packman @chip100

    I just read yesterday that James Franco signed on to play Jake Epping/George Amberson for a 9 episode miniseries of 11/22/63 on Hulu

    Might be old news but new to me! I'm excited for it

    Beginning didn't feel much like a Stephen King book (didn't have that scary/supernatural feel), but I love post-apocalyptic stuff (The Road, Parable of the Sower, etc) so that didn't bother me much. Now that
    everyone is gathering in Boulder and there's all the s--- about the dark man, it's getting much creepier. Especially the s--- with Trashcan Man getting r---d and that dude being eaten by wolves. I'm up to the part where we're just discovering that Harold is thinking about switching sides, so I'm eager to see what happens next.

    I read "The 48 Laws of Power" about a two years ago and really enjoyed it. I know it was highly criticized for using an amoral approach, some would even say unethical, but I found it interesting nonetheless. A lot of great raw truths in this book with historical examples of how to both successfully apply the laws and of unsuccessful applications of the law. I think it's a great read if you go into it with an open mind, and I thought it was formatted really well. I actually plan to reread it soon. If you enjoy it, it definitely seems like the type of book you reread several times, or at least review certain sections.

    Anyone read "The 50th Law" by Robert Greene as well? One hesitation I have with actually purchasing "The 50th Law" is that 50 Cent is a coauthor, but I've heard it's great and I don't want to judge it off that fact without reading it. Besides 50 is well spoken in my opinion. From what I've heard it's almost an extension of "The 48 Laws of Power".

    Being a 50 Cent Stan aside the 50th Law may be the most important book Robert Green has been a part of. I would recommend somebody read that before the 48 Laws honestly.(But then of course I'd have them read 48 Laws immediately after)

    As far as the 48 Laws being morally wrong and unethical, those kind of critiques are usually only heard from idiots that haven't read or missed the entire purpose of the book. Understanding the laws is much, much more important than practicing them. Nobody is going to live life practicing all 50 Laws(a lot of them are situational and some contradict each other) but the thing is even if you aren't or don't want to practice or live by some of the laws having that knowledge of what they are and that others out there maybe using those tactics is critical in life if that makes sense.

    Finally finished 11/22/63 and I loved it. It took a month and a half but it was really good. Bought my next King book, this time I went with non-fiction for an easier/shorter read: Faithful - it's about the 2004 Red Sox season. Not necessarily a Red Sox fan but I love baseball and reading about anything that has to do with it.

    I wrote a book too, published it on Amazon Kindle. Good luck!

    Haven't read it in like a month unfortunately. I got a bit burnt out on it so I switched to reading Inherent Vice (I wanted to read Gravity's Rainbow but that's also like 1200 pages so I figured I'd start with a shorter Pynchon book first, plus I wanna see the film once I'm done). I'm gonna get back to it once I finish Inherent Vice. I think I'm on page 800-900 or so, so it shouldn't take too long once I get back to reading regularly again.
