May 15, 2021 Lol how there's an entire page dedicated to rappers analogies of how their d----s taste on a chapter dedicated to a song that's got nothing to do with rappers d----s. f--- sake.
May 16, 2021 I notice he tends to do this. It was similar in chapter two where he talked about the Chris Rock movie. I guess the side tangents aren't too bad since they only last for a page or two.
May 17, 2021 That's some of the best/funniest qualities of the book imo, it gives the book a lot of personality and keeps things from being too dry.
May 18, 2021 I can appreciate it. Makes more for a conversational feel than talking at you. Also makes it feel more informal than formal which I think is a good distinction to have when talking about music because of how subjective it is.
May 18, 2021 Yeah I really like his writing style personally—it's casual, funny, and accessible while still giving you a lot of good info.
May 26, 2021 Time to play catch up... Read the chapter for Jazzy Sensation last week but never actually listened to the song after. Work firmly got in the way along with some [finally] decent music making its way out this year. Anyway, I digress... I actually have never heard this song before. First 2 of course, all time fundamental parts of hip-hop but this, nope. Not once. It's nice though. I like how the influence of disco was still so firm back then. Anyways onto reading the beginning of week 2.
