To those of you who have been watching for a very long time, has a big fight ever got booed quite like that?

Wow that was bad. Very disappointing.

Uhmm, idk how to compare boos really. I know half a venue emptied after Tank Abbott got knocked out of a tourney and didn't stick around for Royce. Only comparable L I can recall. Of course, Wonderboy-Woodley II was a terrible actual main event that occurred recently.

That's an all time bad fight we just witnessed though. Theodoreau-Alvey style.

I forgot bout Wonderboy Thompson 2 but you’re right that’s a good recent comparison as far as big fight disappointments and the crowd booing.

Cormier will wash Lesnar, then itll be Cormier vs Jones at HW and Jones will win again and DC retires. Then Jon gets popped again for a 3rd PED.

Giving Lesnar a title shot in 2018 coming off of a suspension after a boring fight against Mark Hunt is actually sad.

Hopefully Jon Jones comes back and beats DC a third time at HW.

I think Stipe would have beaten Jones. Not particularly confident but yeah. He's a tough fight for Jones because of his boxing.

Idk how to feel about anything anymore. On one hand... Jones never had the balls to go to HW and could only talk about it. On the other... His resume at LHW is insanity and he beat DC twice. But PED's.

It feels weird saying DC is the best fighter of all time. To win the HW title by beating the best HW of all time tho.

The only way to make this completely clear is if Jones moves up to HW imo. I could look past the positive tests if he does because I believe a lot of fighters take PED's. I'm also not sure how much they've impacted his performances.

But yeah... s--- just got confusing.

i agree a lot of fighters are lowkey still on PEDS , I mean have you seen Romero and Paulo. But still DC hasn't been popped and hes 40 and Jones needed it to beat him at the prime of his career 28 and 30. Jon is my favorite fighter of all time, but lately I dont think he deserves to be in the true GOAT conversation for popping. Him and Silva

I still don't know where I stand on how PED's impact legacy. It's a very complicated question that opens up a bunch of other questions.

All that aside... Just looking at the skills/performances of a fighter.... Jones is the best fighter to ever live. He's just good at basically everything (and there's so much s--- in MMA to be good at). Also just performing when he needs to in general.

Imagine if Jones would have stopped being a p---- and fought Stipe (totally get it was a big risk tho). I know I just said I think Stipe would have beaten him but I've changed my mind lol. Jones has IT. I think he would have found a way to win even if Stipe's size and boxing gave him trouble. The Gus/Jones fight was like 100 years ago now.

Can't wait for his return. Going to be entertaining as a MFer.

100% agreed, Jon is the greatest most talented combat athlete of all time. I also agree Jones would have beaten Stipe, Jon is just so good especially considering he beat Cormier twice.
