People said GSP was a boring champion...I'm sorry but Woodley is very boring. That's 2 fights in a row from him where I was so disinterested that my friends and I almost forgot we were at the bar for UFC. Stuffing 23 takedowns is impressive but anything else was just like come on.

I had Jones winning that first round until the last minute and a half DC started connecting, I was getting a bit scared. When he knocked him out I couldn't believe it. I do get that the refs have to ensure the fight is fully over but I feel the last 2 hits from Jon were not needed, Cormier was for sure out.

Great card for the most part outside of the Woodley fight. Seems like he lost the GSP fight with that performance and now the UFC is gonna do GSP vs Bisping at UFC 217 @ MSG, since Whittaker is hurt. UFC desperately needed Jones to come back and win and he seemed better then ever, I know hes talking Brock but I think the 2nd Gus fight is a big fight as well. Was kinda hoping he'd call for that fight at 217, since he was suspended for 205 and is from NY.

I think Evinger not getting her doors blown off by Cyborg will influence other girls to take that fight. Dana was saying Holly was interested, imo an actual 145er like Megan Anderson should be next. GDR is still the big loser for ducking her, think that would have been a good fight. Dana was saying Robbie might be next for Woodley, but its too soon for that imo. That being said their is nobody else really, maybe RDA if he beats Magny or Ponzinibbio. Wouldn't be mad at T-Wood vs Ponz on like a FOX card.

Was also shocked by how Volkan put Manuwa away, I kinda considered that Cirkunov win a fluke but I'm not overlooking him now. That guy generates some serious power with these short strikes where he has very little space. Was surprised to see Lamas steamroll Knight, who is very durable. I thought he would win a decision and was surprised to see Knight as a slight favorite, but didn't see it being that one sided.

I understand the Woodley fight was "boring" to a casual fan, but for someone like me who studies tape/techniques I thought the fight was fascinating. It's tough for Woodley to open up on a guy like Maia who has the ability to choke you out at any point if given even the slightest opportunity. 23 takedowns defended was very impressive, especially because Maia was never even close.

As for the main event. Wow. What a finish. Jon was dominating the body and legs of DC while DC was going for the k---. DC landed a couple of nice shots, but they didnt effect Jon.
I bet 1 judge would have probably given DC a round but I don't think he even won one. Jon landed more strikes and did more damage.
The best part about the finish was that he was setting up that leg kick from the beginning of the fight. DC was wincing at all the attacks to the body by the end of the 2nd - so in the 3rd when Jon opened up his hip to kick, DC went to cover his ribs & BAM. Game over. What a fight WHAT A SPORT

I was also very happy Jon had nice words for DC after the fight.

I hope we get Jon - Gus II next. The Jon - Lesner fight will happen, but it will prolly be at next years International Fight Week.

Yeah I'm all for Jones/Lesnar, but if it can't happen until next July then I definitely want to see Jon fight again before then.

No, it was still awful. Maia's takedowns got horrible after 5 attempts, and he was blind for half the fight. The result? Woodley still refuses to engage for more than 1 or 2 punches at a time. Inexcusable. Completely different matchup than the Wonderboy fight. He s--- the bed here, and he only has himself to blame.

Okay? Throw a kick. Throw the left. That contextualizes the performance, but it doesn't make up for it. He's fighting a half blind 39 year old who gasses after 2 round.

I can hear you on a left, but a kick against a guy who's only looking to take you down? no lol.

Either way, whatever - he won & I hope they give him Robbie again.

Uh, you can throw a low kick to open somebody up without putting yourself at risk. Less risk than sitting with your back against the cage like Woodley loves to do. For somebody concerned with "technique" you seem pretty f---ing dumb lol. It's inexcusable to have as many advantages as Woodley did and not press any of them.

Robbie is done tbh. He only fought Cerrone because they broke out the checkbook for him. He's far too concerned with his own well being to ever put it on the line again, which he should be. Happy to see him only take interesting match ups from here on out tbh. Where's Nick DIaz at?

No clue who the UFC can send after Woodley since they let go of Rory. Ponzinnibio would be an action packed match up. Bar Woodley just wrestlefucks which is a possibility given his current mindstate. Everybody else either just lost to Maia or just lost to Woodley.

    Lets fight then

Nah, kidding. I just got caught up in defending Woodley cuz I'm a fanboy of his lmao.

I wouldn't mind Ponzinnibio, what is he ranked right now after taking down Gunny?

I know he just lost to Maia but a Masdival matchup would be fun too.

    We'll see tbh.
