    Honestly when I first heard walk on water I was like okay, nice little intro. Now show us u listened to the criticizm instead of just mention it.

    And then he turned around and did every f---ing thing people talked s--- about and we got an album even worse than the ones before :'(

    i remember my first go through to this album. And i was like "dayum, that was s---. A few gems but thats it" I tried so hard to like it but it doesnt work

    Yeah agree. It has a few pretty good and a few average songs. But most of it is just... meh or terrible. At the very least his other albums had some kind of direction whether people liked that direction or not.

    Revival doesnt have the feeling of an album. Thank god he blessed us with an great album a few months later

    It felt like a bunch of bad leftovers from relapse / recovery / mmlp2 era and w some new songs added lol

    Yeah Kamimaze was a lot better. And could have been really f---ing good if it left off Normal and Nice Guy.

    i like normal. I think its catchy, not my fav from the album but its good for me. Yeah, nice guy could be cut off from the album. I also dont like Kamikaze (the song) until the beat switch

    Revival was just cursed from the beginning.

    The fact that it was Em's first album in 4 years, I would expect a rapper with his experience and talent to drop something more cohesive and have some more dope tracks, especially with the fact that he spends all his time in the studio making music.

    Let's not forget the piss poor promotion this album received. The whole thing with the tv add not getting noticed for 2 weeks made his promotional team look amateur. Then to do the whole Pomsomp Hills references on that Ask About Revival site led fans to believe that it may be a return to some Relapse type material. Couldn't have been further from it.

    Then when the tracklist and features were revealed it was pretty clear that this album was Recovery 2.

    Aside from the first few tracks transitioning pretty well together, Em relied too much on having other singers on hooks. No rap features aside from Phresher, I don't include him because I could just about understand a word he said

    I'm glad he was able to come back with Kamikaze and let's hope Em has cut all ties with Rick Rubin.

    Normal was necessary to break the first-3-tracks fire. It was like the calm in the middle and i found it very well placed.

    Also i like the beat switch at the end when he comes in with another flow right after of that mylo thing lol

    But yeah, i agree with nice guy, useless af

    For me "nice guy" and "good Guy" are one song. Good guy needed nice guy to increase the impact.
    The only song that i felt out of place is stepping stones. Yes is a good song but for me killed the vibe of the album.

    Maybe they were one song but as one song they still felt out of place. What does another fantasy violent relationship song add to the album?

    I can kinda see what you mean w SS but it was still a personal song like all the others..

    Imo without Normal, Nice and Good Guy -even if I like the sound of GG a lot- Kamikaze would have been like 8.5 / 9.10

    Kinda agree but I'm glad we had all those songs too. Non of them were bad, Normal doesn't have replay value to me but I wouldn't mind it. Stepping Stone kinda feels out of place as other 3 songs but that's not even a problem for me at all, the song is a classic. Nice Guy is not as bad as ppl say it is. Good Guy is just another classic, if Em would have rapped about s---, that flow and beat would be a classic anyway lol. Kamikaze is the only Em album I've liked every track in it with first few listens since The Eminem Show and today, after a year I can still listen to it and enjoy it as a whole (Normal & Nice Guy lost their replay values but so did songs like Say What You Say in The Eminem Show) it's early to say too much but I feel like I might be calling Kamikaze the 4th classic few years later...
