This def is a can of worms, but misogyny and homophobia is built into our fabric too. Clearly there’s bad usages, bad songs on any subject... but I bristle about saying an art form must inherently adhere to any arbitrary code of conduct.
It's too over-the-top for me sometimes. He's a scumbag, but I think the entire point of a lot of his music (especially his run from Monster and on) is that he's not glorifying his life. The way he treats women, abuses drugs is depressing. It's a cry for help.
A song like "My Collection" doesn't work on its own, but in the context of the album it's amazing. You're supposed to think he's a total piece of s--- when you hear "even if I hit you once you're part of my collection," but by the end of album he's singing a 7 minute song begging for forgiveness and apologizing for his actions.
It's something I struggle with, because I do have a problem with the objectification of women on songs. It gets harder for me to listen to certain music as I get older because of that. One of my favorite albums, Still Brazy, has a song I deleted from my iTunes because the content makes it unlistenable to me.
I don't have a problem with the word "b----" in and of itself, but I do have a problem with how it's used sometimes. I think the word "b----" can be used both disparagingly and endearingly (female rappers use the word b---- all the time as well). But yeah I hope rappers can start to move on from this too.
This genre is notoriously homophobic, not just using the f word slur but legit homophobic and disrespectful to gays. You have any clue how many people use fa---- without reference to h----------s? Not just in hip hop just in life
Yeah like deadass WHO thinks it was anything more than Eminem calling one single guy (who is also a rapper and who has notoriously bred controversy) a fa---- to get at him lol

I know plenty of people in their 50s still using it. Why stopped uding a word he used his whole life just because it has different power now.. Should he stop saying homie too.. Cause u can argue thats not for 45 year olds.
