Here are my thoughts-

(First tbh u should’ve made this a thread asking for my opinion) ...but I like it! Here are the posters who I mostly agree with: @JFK @Swizz @Jet✞ @Big Cuntry. Co-sign a lot of their thoughts. As @Worm said most everyone else is trying too hard to hate it, or just stans. That leaves ME and few others to give this an honest take.

The Ringer. Great opener. One of the best beats he’s rapped on it in a minute and immediately put me at ease. “He,” I thought to myself while walking my dog “has righted the ship.” Just really fun and confident. Vintage a------ energy heh

Greatest: woof that chorus lol. Almost details it for me but I still like it. (Its encore level bad chorus so I stan wash it away). Good generally. I should be paid to pontificate on Pitchfork. I could do it hold on I’m quitting my real job

Lucky You: good! Tbh Joyner Lucas is whatever. I dig em’s honesty and def awareness

Skits: enjoyable

Normal: ahhhhhh ehhhhh. Generic relationship stuff no thanks. At this point it’s pure fiction or too watered down to rly resonate. It’s not embarrassing (that’s the bar) or even awk. I probably won’t listen much after my nerves have settled

Stepping stone: GREAT! Even better than castle/arose. It’s almost deja vu no apologies level - vintage personal eminem. How does he manage songs like this out of nowhere? Even the beat sounds classic em if that makes sense. As jfk said I’m invested in the “story” of eminem and this was amazing and heartfelt fan service. A song about d12 working in 2018? This is the kind of stuff you won’t read about in POW but it’s true

Not Alike: some lines work, I like the chorus I guess. Not rly into it?

Kamikaze: it’s dumb but I dig it. Harmless and silly. Double down on fack and almost make it work ok sure it’s 2018. What a goofball I like rap

Fall: pretty good. Dope hook. Nice flow and lyrics. As a white guy in his early 30s I’m drawn to anything Justin Vernon

Nice guy: ahhhhhhh no. “s--- my d-ck!” ruins it for me shout out @M Solo

Good guy: weird and boring. No thanks

Venom: not rly for me, but I hope the kids and r-----s out there like it. It’s whatever, crappy and kind of The Type Of song ostensibly the other tracks were lamenting but sure. So weird how bloated and toothless all these post Lose Yourself soundtrack/rock stadium “anthems” are

So you see, it mostly works. It at least isn’t a slog/embarrassing. I know a lot of black people and rappers who agree with me.

I had to hand pick like maybe 5 tracks from his last 4 releases (shady xv, southpaw, mmlp2, revival) to make an album that was not full of cringe. And out of all those there was hardly 12 excellent tracks. This one album is all solid. Haven't been this amped about listening to an eminem album since BME. Revival was so bad I've only heard it twice since its release. I've heard this one 5 times today!
