I dont think hes a chimp with a paintbrush. I just think hes in trouble, the dude has been well known to push the boundaries of law for years going back to the late 70s. If the justice department and special counsel want to find dirt on him (which seems like the case) then sadly they probably will. Its just a matter of whether they will do anything with what they find and whether the impeachment proceedings will even go on. I dont like trump (havent like the past few presidents) but i cannot deny there are a few things he has done that are quite extraordinary (north korea for example), how much of that is directly the result of his decisions in unclear but other than the terrible social unrest the USA is doing ayyy okay. If something does happen with Trump, no matter what side you are on, it will not be good for America.

The fact that he’s a subject of an investigation is his own fault though. If he doesn’t fire Comey, there would be no special counsel right now. If he listened to Obama & not hired Michael Flynn to be his national security advisor, this all may have been dropped. He’s continuously done things that makes it seem like he’s trying to hide something. The fact that several trump officials have plead guilty to lying to the FBI isn’t a good look either. Trump makes things worse for himself.

Explain? Not all presidents prompted a special counsel to investigate them though.

This is a cop out. Yeah, presidents in the past have tip-toed on the line of the law but a president can only be impeached for “high crimes.” It has to be something significant & the accusations being thrown at Trump are very significant. Obstruction of justice, treason, conspiracy, bribery etc. Suggesting all presidents commit crimes like this & it’s the norm is disingenuous.

Anyways, the big irony of that opinion piece is that it b------s about liberals total resistance to Trump whether it be through media/entertainment whatever. The difference between you and me on this token is that I'm not in an echo chamber. I despise the NYT for their lying and warmongering, but I'll skim an article or two every now and then just to keep up with their narrative and to see how they're spinning things. But if I posted a YouTube video by an independent content creator or an alt media piece, even if the YouTuber or author leaned left, you wouldn't even give it the time of day just because it didn't come from someone who has a journalism degree and works for a corporate firm. It's like with the Project Veritas stuff; you won't give James O'Keefe the time of day because the MSM says his videos are edited or skewed or took out of context in some way (even though they're clearly not). But you didn't come to that conclusion yourself, you took someone else's word for it. As I said before, you don't trust your own judgment.
