Feb 11, 2023 Great episode and the little changes from the game, worked well. I’m finding the world, lore and other characters way more interesting than the Joel and Ellie dynamic though, which is a good and bad point I guess. Just not clicking for me their story and relationship. There’s a lot of room to make good spin offs with the TV show, if they ever do it as the whole world is engaging.
Feb 11, 2023 Never played the game although I am familiar with it to some degree. As far as the show is concerned, this is some bleak s---. Introduce a new character, b--- b---! .
Feb 12, 2023 Finally got around to watching episode 5. This might be my favorite episode yet besides episode 2
Feb 19, 2023 Can’t wait for tonight’s episode. I even starved myself for 2 days and avoided showering for a whole week to prepare and really help get myself immersed in the world
Feb 19, 2023 Pedro Pascal better be nominated for an Emmy for this show. The contractor is killing it
Feb 19, 2023 The show’s visuals always look great, but I especially loved all the shots of the snowy mountains and forests in this new episode 6.
Feb 20, 2023 Great episode. World building and added lore, backstory is next level. Ending was rushed with the university and how the escape happens. One of my my favourite parts of the game is that but they just quickly went through it. Probably needed to be extended this episode to do more justice for the ending but overall it’s one of my favourite episodes so far.
Feb 20, 2023 It felt a bit rushed to me as well. It just happened so fast I didn’t really feel any emotions except confusion
Feb 20, 2023 yeah the ending was a little rushed but it was a great episode. Was glad they didn't go the games route and have him fall from the 2nd floor to get impaled lol. They did the "you're right, you're not my daughter" scene really well. Spoiler: game spoiler liked the little easter eggs. We see who I assume is Dina that Ellie yells at and she meets her future horse Shimmer. Looks like they're taking a break from the storyline next week to focus on the side story "Left Behind" from the remastered game and freak people out about Joel's situation
Feb 27, 2023 d--- that’s a shame. I’m starting to play through the game now, and I have the DLC as well so I’ll see all the differences soon
Feb 27, 2023 Easily the worst episode, wasn’t a fan of it all. Liked the DLC in the game but this episode was just boring and didn’t convey it well at all. The PG feeling and lack of action is starting to become a major issue for me. Next two episodes should be action packed and brutal with how it should go but get a feeling it won’t be.
Feb 27, 2023 Yeah, I guess this is where my lack of experience with the game comes into play. I thought it was a nice depiction of young, first love in a dystopia and it contrasted well with the old love of Bill and Frank. These love stories feel like small sprinkles of hope in a hopeless world. This was definitely still the worst episode though, I agree with that.
Feb 27, 2023 They could have made the flashback half the episode while also dealing with the present Spoiler: TLOU2 Video Game Spoiler I have a feeling they wasted the entire episode on that because they wanted to see how Ellie could carry an episode without Joel since we know what happens to him in the 2nd game. Either way that episode just dragged on and could have easily been consolidated
Mar 1, 2023 I’ve seen a lot of people call episode 3 and episode 7 filler episodes. I don’t really see it that way. I like the world building and extra backstories. If what’s being shown to me is interesting enough, I don’t really care if it’s pushing the plot forward or not. The focus on navigating love in such a dystopian world is important to me
Mar 1, 2023 Episode 3 was great. This wasn't. It was just too long and drawn out. It would have been perfect if that story was half the episode and they went back to the present more like they did in the game
