Jul 31, 2025 I think people more so stopped watching because of bad writing. Ellie is a part of that, sure, but if they wrote Ellie better it wouldn’t be as bad. Bella didn’t exactly have great material to work with, not to mention the fact Craig Mazin seemingly wanted her to act like a dumbass. They changed her way too much when compared to the game version. There’s also a lot more issues than just Ellie tbh. I think Craig Mazin was behind a lot of the dogshit changes which makes me worried about season 3 since he is basically taking over. He will probably butcher Abby.

We can’t rely on the game to show us how good it’s gonna be because clearly they are changing a lot of s--- at this point. I wouldn’t be surprised if they turn Abby into a dumbass as well to make more obvious parallels to Ellie.
