Jul 7, 2018 eeeeeeh i think Em is just an era rapper...whoever was there to listen to his music at the time understand it and appreciate it...i listened to TES yesterday and i cant even bother to argue with anyone who doesnt think it is an absolute masterpiece
Jul 7, 2018 I think Rihanna deserves a shout, her singles have been played everywhere--working with Calvin Harris probably established an entire European base of fans. What's impressive about Eminem's popularity was that while Rap was the new dominant trend in Murica, it didn't have that reach overseas. He deserves a lot of credit for that
Jul 7, 2018 Anyone with the same background and same aesthetic (Mainly being white and living somewhere like Detroit in The 90's when it was its roughest.) could have and would have been the biggest star of their time as well. And I hate that Eminem will forever be considered "The Biggest" because it just confirms that this world is a shallow shell of the rest of the universe. We ain't s---. What? White, growing up in Detroit, in a single-parent home. Nothing special. I grew up with MFers like him who were way more talented and had it way worse. I don't want to hear it. Same f---ing demographic that is the reason why Kid Rock maintained any semblance of relevancy to this day. Embarrassing.
Jul 7, 2018 I was 7 when he dropped mmlp so listened to his stuff later. I do think he is an unique rapper with songs no other rapper could have made (for better or worse) and he made a LOT of great stuff. And yes, 2nd half of his career a lot of s--- too
Jul 7, 2018 i am butthurt cuz i hate seeing a good member being this dumb no, sales is the only measurement of popularity..no one gives a s--- about how much downloads a street artist gets
Jul 7, 2018 wow you are truly a dumbass, its not the biggest rapper in the last 18 months...its the biggest rapper ever...you cant take the ever out of iy
Jul 7, 2018 guys to help you realize how dumb some members in this thread is whats a biggest movie of all time? Avatar or shawshank redemption ?
Jul 7, 2018 Perhaps this is coming from a warped perception, but let's rewind to those years; what made you Europeans or other oversea posters like Koolo become listeners to Eminem in the first place?
Jul 7, 2018 he was bigger than music,,he was an iconic figure and a household name all over middle east...the "real slim shady" was MASSSSSSIVE and he introduced rap to many people
Jul 7, 2018 dude...i cant even..... dude, your argument is dumb because the same logic can be used for eminem...which is why sales is the only measure..the only tangible measure i assume you still not old enough to understand tangible measure?
Jul 7, 2018 Easy. I heard a song on the radio (I think it was Without Me) and checked out his albums. Same happened w other artists. And I liked it. Then Relapse came and it was meh to me, w a few great songs.. same w the other albums after it. But the run he had is still really good to me, not just his albums but also the feats and other songs. All things aside he isn't in my top 5 though, lots of better catalogs. But some of the hate he gets and s--- like 'he was never good' is kinda lame imo
Jul 7, 2018 I'm sorry man do you realize how big Eminem is globally? Do you know how many people have probably heard 4-5 other rap songs and know eminems whole discog?
