Dec 1, 2022 If you go by numbers, yeah sure. But I don't give a s--- about Messi or CR7, never did. I'd whipe every memory I have of them playing just to see Maldini play 1 minute in an official game again.
Dec 1, 2022 I think Mbappé and Haarland are gonna be the next big stars tbh (not related to this just saying)
Dec 1, 2022 Nah the numbers argument is only for Ronaldo. Despite him being an exciting winger in his early career, he morphed into goal-scoring machine about 10 years ago (to keep up with Messi), but sacrificed the rest of his game for it. He was never a football genius to begin with though. Not in the sense of a Maradona etc. Messi belongs in that category but has the goals too. Messi is a football artist. You can still see it now even though his legs are gone. - The best dribbler of all time (only competition is Maradona) - The best playmaker of all time - One of the best passers of all time - The best goal scorer of all time (ratio is better than Ronaldo's) - The most assists of all time If you ignore The GOAT goal scoring numbers he's still the best player. It's just incredibly rare that he has the goal scoring to go with it. No one has ever and probably will ever be the best playmaker and goal scorer of all time like Messi. The vision, the balance, the intricate touches, the dribbling, the creativity.. The man literally has everything in an attacking sense. The only thing Ronaldo beats him at is headers and penalties. Not shi--ing on Ronaldo, he's one of the GOATS too. But you cannot simply watch a game of football and compare Messi's game to Ronaldo's, unless you're subconsciously thinking about looks or attached to his persona or something. You're more than likely a fan of the character rather than the footballer. The Cruyff's, Ronaldinho's, Zidane's, OG Ronaldo etc of the world were magicians too. But its ridiculous to suggest they were ever on Messi's level. In terms of goals scored, only C Ronaldo comes close. For all round ability, Maradona is the closest. But no one is Messi.
Dec 1, 2022 Not disagreeing with anything you posted, I agree but for me him and CR7 are non existent never liked them, never will, is more of a preference, but I'll never say both are not the best ever cause that will be a lie. I just stopped liking football players after 2007, peak football for me was in the late 90s earley 2000's when I had football players as idols and so on, now I'm just watching the games for fun, support my local club and that's it.
