He just seems to do better whenever he doesn't overthink things, which isn't too often. He's always either trying to find out what made him great before, or trying to please people.

Man i lived in the suburbs for a few years and it was crazy the change, like I think its really understated and you don't really understand it until you get it for the first time and lose it. Its crazy how different worlds can be from a town over

It's not about actually being rough like Fredo Santana tho it's about not pretending you are, if you're from the suburbs okay but don't talk about pulling up on someone with the draco if you never seen a draco in your life.

I mean... it depends. If you do it in a serious light, you're obviously an idiot. If you do it in character, fine.

Lmao why do people keep saying this, Em is not trying to please people or fit in. The guy is in his "technical lyricism" phase of trying to push the boundaries of rap, in an era that doesn't care about that. I mean.. isn't this obvious?

A lot of people - mostly his fans - care a lot about rhyming.

bro it's prob 1% of his fans who care about that. honestly when was the last time you heard an Em fan say "can't wait for this new Em record, I hope it's way more technical and complex than the last one!!"

Sure it's not because he's a middle aged recluse with nothing left to rap about?

What do you mean, that's the reason he's so technical? Or that's the reason he's not trying to fit in? Maybe, but seeing as jay z is a similar age, and the fact that I don't know anything about Em's personal life or what he has to rap about, I'm just going based on the fact he's said he wants to master all aspects of rap before he's done.
