Oct 4, 2015 Even though Terminator Genisys made more money at the Box Office than Salvation, it still wasn’t enough for Paramount Studios to greenlight a sequel. According to a report from The Hollywood Reporter, sources say that the “Terminator universe is on hold indefinitely“. This basically means Paramount Studios is taking a rest from the franchise again and a sequel to Terminator Genisys may never materialize. Terminator Genisys actually grossed over $440.2 million at the Box Office based off of a budget of $155 million. However, Paramount Studios is still expected to lose money from the movie so this was not enough to warrant a sequel. This is the second time a Terminator reboot failed to kickstart another trilogy. Terminator Salvation was supposed to be another new trilogy, but that movie failed to please fans and critics too. That movie only grossed $371.4 million at the Box Office on a very bloated $200 million budget. The Terminator franchise has never been the same since James Cameron stopped making them. Terminator 2 is the best movie of the franchise and it made the most money too. It grossed more money at the Box Office even without adjusting for inflation as it earned $519.8 million back in 1991. This figure would be higher in 2015 dollars. This may come as sad news for fans that wanted to see Terminator Genisys 2. The movie teased a sequel would be happening, but now it looks like the series has been terminated for now. http://attackofthefanboy.com/news/terminator-genisys-2-may-have-been-terminated/
Oct 4, 2015 It's time for this franchise to end. There's nothing more they can do with it. It should've ended after Terminator 2 tbh.
Oct 5, 2015 They need to head into a new direction. Maybe try a planet of the apes situation. Have the machines win, take over, and start a new society. And than your main character can be a human who's trying to 1. Survive 2. Take down the machines 3. Etc. If not than just let it end. T2 was the perfect ending tbh.
Oct 5, 2015 Arnie was surprisingly entertaining in TG, though everything else s----d beyond belief. For some reason, there is never any talent involved behind the scenes in this series.
Oct 5, 2015 Exactly. And they stopped Judgement Day in T2 so idk how or why they keep dragging it out.
Oct 5, 2015 I tried watching Part 4 and turned it off after about a half hour. s--- was god awful. Haven't bothered with the series since.
Oct 5, 2015 Thank God. The only director that should be allowed to touch this is James Cameron after all is his creation.
Oct 6, 2015 X-Men Days of Future Past is a better Terminator sequel than any of the non-Cameron ones tbh
