Well Medvedev now is the favorite to win this after what just happened.

Djokovic was disqualified from the tournament in the first set of that match after he hit at a lineswoman in apparent frustration, striking her in the neck and injuring her. Djokovic was given a default and Carreno Busta advanced to the quarterfinals in stunning fashion.

So is this, even though Shapovalov damaged the empire pretty badly and you could say it deserves it more but at the end of the day it's still an accident. You just don't get frustrated and hit people just cause you're mad on the tennis court. I love the rule and I am happy it applied to the number 1 as well. Woulda been so bad for them if they allowed him to keep playing after that

personally i think they should have penalized him a few points or something along those lines......ejecting him from the match is overreacting. but i realize ppl see things differently. i'm just glad you post in this thread so i don't gotta talk to myself lol :)

i'm cheering for naomi osaka on the women's side and busta on men's.

For now our wta favs go head 2 head in the final and It also can happen with Busta vs Medvedev if they both win their semifinal.

well, 1 out of 2 ain't bad ha

azarenka did a good job of keeping her cool after that disaster first set. and that's not easy to do against someone as intimidating as serena. very impressive.

busta lost but played a h--- of a match. i saw busta play last summer at the winston salem open. i was up very close to the match too. it was a lot of fun

I watched both semifinals tonight, don't know what happened to Busta after the first 2 sets the only reason I can think of is that Zverev woke up and played a lot better.
And Medvedv just got out played plain and simple. Thiem was the better player and I don't think Zverev has the weapons to stop him in the final but lets see.
Two great finals can wait to see the outcome.

Not a lot of tennis fans around here?

Lately I've been enjoying Roland Garros more than football lol and hoping for a final between Djokovic and Nadal. The games these 2 played over the years had me going crazy in front of the tv almost everytime, even though I'm a huge Federer fan.

i'm watching joker vs tsitsipas right now. joker got off to a good start, but tsitispas didn't just lay down and die....he kept fighting.

joker vs nadal would be cool in the final, but you know how good nadal is on clay.

I know but Djokovic is a machine. I'm a huge Federer fan but the most amazing games of tennis I have ever watched were between Nadal and Djokovic on hard court. The 2012 Australian open final was the greatest grand slam final I have ever seen. Can't wait for sunday.

d---, never seen such an amazing performance for an entire tournament. She didn't lost a set and she's only 19y old. She will be a beast in this game if she keeps that attitude. however let's see, cause women tennis is the definition of inconsistency but she looked very mature.
    Congrats.
