    The Max & French vs Jim Jones feud was at fever pitch and Max was months away from his 75 year sentencing. Coke Wave came out somewhere in the beginning of 09 and I remember bumping the h--- out of it, from rapping over Pink Floyd, a Marvin Gaye sample and M.I.A's Paper Planes this tape practically was the height of the Wave. This song best captures both Max & French at their very best, the chemistry is great and French had the best mentor you can possibly ask for, he's come a long way since these tapes.

    During his last few days as a free man, he unleashed this to the fans. Biggavel lays down everything on this emotionally charged track, little did we know he'd get hit with a long sentencing and this was basically his goodbye to us. Shoutout to Young Los behind the boards for always crafting the classic sparse wavy soundbed for Max to float over.

    This song is exactly what the title suggests; salacious, sleazy and exorbitant. But beneath the surface lies an awareness story Max is trying to tell about this girl, its vivid and probably applicable to our own experiences. All this while doing these absurd transitions from fast flows to brief singing and back on those two verses, he makes the task seem so effortless.

    I'll wrap up the countdown tonight once I'm done with these midterms, hoping we get news from More Life or something

    Dom Perignon

    This was honestly where it all started for me, I can't remember how I even heard this the first time but all I knew was that this was nothing like anything out in New York or let alone the rap industry. I always suggest this song first to anyone since it combines all the standard Max elements; the melodic delivery, the wavy beat and the bold lyrics that keep the post-Dipset spirit alive.

    Ever since his big breakthrough on Killa Cam's Jay-Z diss "You Got To Love It" , Max B has made a name for himself as a certified Hook specialist; it's on full-display on this ride-or-die chick classic and is a big reason why this is one his most popular songs. "b---- had the nerve to take a piss in the lobby / Now she talking bout catching body" crazy thing about this line is it's the very reason why he ended up getting locked up.

    Perhaps the most depressing thing looking back at this thread was the very thought that we have been denied years of potentially incredible music and just when his hype was getting bigger. Max was destined to be a superstar and this song is my biggest exhibit towards that claim; it's a bonafide tune, perfect for any environment and best listened to when you're driving a kinky Expedition through Harlem. The hook will stay in your conscience, the quasi hook after that is infectious and his effervescent flow is masterfully effective. Can't wait for his release man...

    Going through this thread makes me miss max b so much :emoji_slight_frown: imagine all the great music he could still be making if he hadn't got locked up.

    This was another of the early Biggavel songs I distinctly remember from those days. I swear you can almost hear Jim Jones rapping the verses, the beat of course is tailored for Max's melodic warbling and that hook is pure gold. I was tempted to throw in the remix which is equally brilliant, but It'd be a sin not for me to exclude this essential Max masterpiece.

    It's worth shopping them around and see if you can get a price; various collectors might pay a high price for that!

    Anywho here's the next choice:

    Released on his fantastic Quarantine mixtape, it follows the overall theme of the tape as he comes to terms with his impending sentencing. The lyrics are reflective and appreciative, all this while Max rides the magnificent beat like a surfboard. Really goes to show how unique his flow is.
    @Mike Tyson @El Ares @Soldier @YDB @Ordinary Joel @BigCountry @Jay Zeus @Polo Sporting Goods also tagging @Maxo Bin Laden & @Jehovah as people with objectively good taste

    Wow I wasn't expecting the banner, I did this for the sake of doing something fun & productive but really thank you big homie!

    @Soldier from there check Wavie Crockett or even PD6 which has some of his best songs too. The Byrdgang tapes are flames too, you get a glimpse of early Max and the much missed Stack Bundles.

    A contender for his most explosive song; this makes you feel like you're running away from the cops in a runaway vehicle GTA-style. There are so many brilliant songs on MDB2, but this one showed that Max had the potential of being more than just a mixtape circuit darling. Showing a surprising vocal range on the hook to hard-hitting verses and a sinister flow, this has it all.

    This one is always tricky to answer but I suggest Million Dollar Baby 2 and Public Domain 3 since those have some of his most identifiable work.

    If you listen closely you can hear Wiz Khalifa's Kush & OJ being born in this song. Fresh off from splitting with Jim Jones' Byrdgang, Max goes straight for Capo's head in the opening lines "I know them n----s need me / I was giving them the loot, but them n----s blew it" which alludes to the fact that Max did indeed carry Jimmy's music during the mid 00s with his song-writing. That point is further drilled in this song; he's hungry and confident, the hook pretty much says it all.
