    Do a bit of reading about the history of the league you're looking to get into. Read up about the awards. Greatest players. Watch games during the season. Stuff like that.

    Don't talk to people acting like you know s--- when you clearly don't, though -- that's annoying. Just have convos with people about it & gradually you'll pick it up & be able to go more in-depth etc
