f--- nawh.

Dre only has a perfect record because he takes like 60 years between each album, as he's so paranoid of making a mistake. Plus he's not a rapper, not a deep artist... he's a thoughtful producer and artist in that sense, but he's not an active lyricist or ideas guy on that front - so he just doesn't have the output to compare.

Dre's has a huge effect on music of course. But I think Em's is often understated and dismissed, and we're only truly beginning to see the magnitude of it now in some sense.

Most of the greatest rappers in the past 5 + years cite Em as a major force in shaping their approach to rapping. In particular Kendrick & J.Cole. And not just 'he was an influence', but Kendrick has gone in depth about how he basically got his aggression and sense of precision with delivery from Em. And you can hear it.

Em's influence is deep, and not always as easy to spot as seeing somebody imitate a Dre beat. Dre has influenced sounds, the sounds of the times - for sure - but Em has affected minds. And work ethic. He's raised standards on lyricism and artistry in rap, taken it to totally unseen levels prior to him and he doesn't get anywhere near enough credit for his contribution to rapping itself.

SSLP, MMLP (in particular) and TES are also way more artistically significant than any Dre project. Em's concepts, ideas, emotion and dense-a--- persona and rapping is too significant in comparison to gangsta braggadocio and b------s. Seriously MMLP is a total f---ing masterpiece and mind-f--- of an album ("I am whatever you say I am) - becoming the criticisms and misunderstandings of the public and critics, inhibiting it all as a character and playing out that character throughout an album to deepen misunderstanding and cause that kind of reaction...

But not for its own sake - to then tie in themes of free speech, bad parenting, the social climate and hypocrisy in America... all the s--- within MMLP. To use that idea as a way to provoke interest in deeper themes... AND be funny as f--- AND be insanely catchy AND make it a classic, cohesive, timeless piece of work...

Nawh.

Dre is cool as f---. Em is a total genius.

"Forgot About Dre" is still my s---. Eminem wrote a dope a--- song. Think about it, having to write Dre's verses, using content that fit him (I always wondered if Em wrote "n-----" in them or Dre decided to revise it) and then use his SS identity on his verse.

Although, this part still makes me laugh...

"I told em' all, all them lil' gangsters, who you think helped mold em' all? Now they wanna walk around talkin' bout guns, like I ain't got none.. What you think, I sold em' all? Cause I stay well off? Now all I get is hate mail all day sayin' Dre fell off.. What? Cause I been in the lab with a pen and a pad, tryna get this d--- label off?"

Lol Dre you don't write your s--- lol
