Dec 4, 2016 Not possible unless he departs from the sound that has stuck with him for the past decade, with which he peaked on FNL. I think 2014 FHD was the closest he'll get to commercializing that sound, so I hope he figured something new out for this album.
Dec 5, 2016 Fully agree. It won't even be much at this point, just work with more people and be less stingy with how his whole process works. For instance, I am a huge timbaland and it is a dream for them to work in a studio together. Timbo has even hit him up to do stuff which makes it even more frustrating. And Pharrell equally has elevated people's music. I feel like Cole has chosen not to work with people like them on purpose to be a hipster and stand out but for what? Yes, the mixtapes were him and his team but they also were over classic instrumentals from other people. He has to let go.
