Oct 22, 2016an alienwear is gonna be a lot more expensive than buying the parts that are in it and assembling it yourself
also ive never built a pc but i'm pretty sure it's literally just like legos, you just snap the parts into place and you're good to go

CPU:
Just go with Intel, for example:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819117561&ignorebbr=1
It has good price-performance ratio. Also you can go with 6600 without K at the end if you don't want to overclock it.
GPU:
You should go with Nvidia GTX 1060, for example:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814125879&ignorebbr=1
Same story as before: good price-performance ratio.
Memory:
Crucial is a good choice. You can choose 16GB if you don't want as much as 32GB.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820104643&ignorebbr=1
Motherboard:
It's really a preference. You can go with whatever, but it should have LGA1151 socket and be able to run 2400MHz RAM.
Example:

CPU FAN

Case:

I have the same one. It's really good quality case. You can also choose something from Corsair, for example:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...042&cm_re=corsair_450d-_-11-139-042-_-Product
but it feels cheaper in my opinion.
Power Supply:
Semi-Modular:

Full Modular:

Hard Drive:
Same as motherboard: Choose anything you want from Seagate or Western Digital.
SSD:
If you want to have SSD (I recommend it) then Crucial have good price-performance ratio SSD's. You should pick one depending on their speed and capacity.Ordinary Joel, Jordan, dkdnfbdjdkdddjdjfvcgfl and 1 other person like this. -

i have the literal top of the line imac you can buy and i dualbooted it, and for some reason i really hate it. everything on the windows partition is super slow and wonky. if you want to play games with the desktop, dualbooting a mac is the worst way to go about it.
bootcamp also f----- up my 3TB hard drive and locked it up when i tried to erase the partition, and now i have 1TB of disk space that's just unusable unless i do a factory reset and run a time machine backup to restore everything. i'd imagine that's a rare thing to happen, but it's still worth being aware of.Ordinary Joel, Guma and Final like this. -

op has been rocking a 5 year old laptop. he likely doesn't need a top of the line gaming machine with the worlds most powerful gpu tho..
legit, hardcore gaming or video editing are the only two reasons to need a desktop these days. i've done all sorts of creative, graphical s---, plus everything under the sun as far as business applications & development tools go -- all on my laptop. no struggles or hiccups. and that goes for my older mbp (before it s--- the bed), and my couple year old work thinkpad deviceOrdinary Joel, Jordan and Final like this.Mar 16, 2026(This ad goes away when signing up)
