Sep 4, 2016 I'm not gonna argue on "Lose Yourself" not being classic, cuz it is. I'd go as far to say that's a masterpiece. But being the best ever is subjective. That was Em in his prime however, the Eminem now has shoved aside the things that made prime Em so great like flow and production. Yea, Rap is rhythm and poetry, but in the end, it's also MUSIC. And Kanye has definitely been making better music since 2004. Eminem on the rapping scale is better and always will be, but musically is nowhere near where Kanye is at. Eminem doesn't try to break boundaries with his sound, he has all these fantastic producers he could use to levitate the lyrics he writes and he chooses....Luis Resto, Alex Da Kid and Mr. Porter??? Are you serious? Kanye is not Drake. He had COLLABORATORS, not ghostwriters. Theirs a difference.
Sep 4, 2016 if you don't think legacy and rap god have flow then you need to get your ears checked. besides that's not what makes rap great. rhymes are. and ye can't rhyme for s---
Sep 4, 2016 i feel like every one of your posts can be construed as either an insult or a compliment. it's pretty cool because it obviously takes effort. which i appreciate
Sep 4, 2016 That's a traditional view. What makes Rap great is all the components, not just lyrics. flow, delivery, lyrics, subject matter and especially production. And Kanye can definitely rhyme -No More Parties In L.A - Diamonds Remix - Gorgeous - Diamonds From Sierra Leone ^ Multiple examples. I can't take someone who calls MMLP2 a classic seriously. It's a clear sign you mainly listen to only Eminem, lyrical miracle spiritual guys and Shady Records affiliated artists.
Sep 4, 2016 nah that just means you aren't smart enough to understand an obvious insult lol...there's clearly nothing complimentary about that post Btw, if Apple Music album descriptions are gospel, it's time you admit The Life of Pablo is "genius". I'll wait!!
Sep 4, 2016 He wrote all of those. It's been proven. He wrote NMPILA on an Airplane in January of 2016, he wrote the Diamonds Remix at Rihanna's house. He definitely wrote Gorgeous, Pusha T filmed him writing it on his phone, and Diamonds from Sierra Leone was written after he watched a documentary on mining. I'll give you a couple he didn't write tho to be fair, "Jesus Walks". "Waves". And so what if he didn't write a few? The man has 21 Grammy's to his name and made My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. How many artists can you think of that have made an album that monumental to music? Lemmie think of a few... Bob Dylan, "Blood On The Tracks" Steve Wonder, "Songs In The Key Of Life" Michael Jackson, "Thriller" Nas, "Illmatic"
Sep 4, 2016 70% easily. As I stated in a post above, theirs a difference between collaborators and ghostwriters. A ghostwriter goes in, like Partynextdoor, writes a whole song, makes a demo and gives it to the person for reference. A collaborator is someone like Mike Dean or Rick Rubin, who sit in a room with Kanye, and suggest ways to make a line better or how to build off it. Alot of credible hip hop artists do that. Theirs nothing wrong with that, that's trying to make the best music you can.
Sep 4, 2016 even if i were to call it good music no pun intended it's not comparable to an artist who writes every syllable himself. and all of that factors into their public personas/personalities to me
Sep 4, 2016 Sure it is. People go, OH MAN, DID YOU HEAR THAT NEW SONG/ALBUM? THAT WAS CRAZY!" Some might even say, "OH MAN, THAT ONE LINE WAS SO DOPE! BARS!" You won't hear them say, "OH MAN, DID YOU HEAR ALL THE SYLLABLES HE WAS USING? AND THE EMPHASIS ON HOW HE WRITES ALL OF IT?!?!" And Kanye is not good music, he's GREAT music. Most people care about the music being great, not the little technical bits backpackers obsess over. Even albums of the 90's, which were more lyric focused like "Ready To Die" by Biggie and "The Low End Theory" by A Tribe Called Quest, had great music too, something Eminem has been lacking like crazy.
Sep 4, 2016 Sales don't matter anymore. If they did, that'd mean Drake is the best rapper this year objectively, cuz he sold the most. Your scrapping the bottom of the Barrell at this point man.
Sep 4, 2016 Do you think Eminem sells well because of his lyrical s---? Absolutely not. Its because of his pop s---, the stuff Stans try to ignore. And MMLP2 despite selling 792k first week, has only managed to hit...Triple platinum worldwide? Okay that's better then 90% of artists today, but Recovery went Diamond. How can you lose 7 million in sales? I'm aware Recovery is 6 years old, but in 2013 it was around 8-9 million sold. And since MMLP2 has been out for 3 years... And I ain't talking about popularity, cuz Em takes that with his blind fanbase. Of course Em wins at that. The only fans poor D12 got on facebook are diehard Em fans. Poor Bizzare gets so little love he practically begs for features.
Sep 4, 2016 lol everyone downloads everything now and i love the songs you mislabel as pop of course it's because of his lyrics
