    Maybe "the conservatives" should stop being "overly-sensitive." Seriously how much of a p---- do you have to be to be offended or up in arms about someone not standing up for a song? Who gives a s---?

    Being punished for not standing for the National Anthem is the beginning of transformation into Orwell's "1984".

    He doesn't support the anthem, for its racist context. He's not a patriot because his country stands with those police officers who commit heinous murders of young black men on a regular basis.

    I remember most kids hated having to stand up for the Pledge in junior high and high school. Nowadays, for me at least, sport events are the only places where standing up for the flag is a big deal. He sits, stands, does a cart wheel, who gives a s---. What he does on the field is what matters. Fans pay too much attention to an athlete's personal beliefs. He's a guy who's working. Worry about how he's playing on the field and that's it.

    I always opted out and sat down during the pledge in high school. Not on any protest s---; I just rejected the idea at every level. I still think it's silly.

    Who cares? Why is this an issue?

    We always did the pledge at my schools growing up but I opted out by HS partially because I was a super cool teenager who didn't care but also because I actually didn't care.
