Jeezy had his moment--and made some very good music after that moment had passed--but he's very clearly third. I love T.I., and I think he's underrated by a press world (and fan community) that's still very NY/LA-centric and album-centric. But Gucci is the best artist of the three: the best writer, the most creative, and ultimately the most influential.

ATL blew the f--- up in the early 00's. After OutKast's legendary run, the title for King of the ATL has been claimed a few times, to say the least. The early 00's saw the rise of Ludacris and Lil Jon and a wave of imitators; a little while later, the emergence of the TI, Jeezy and Gucci. All three them have built storied careers, record labels, millions sold etc, etc, but who do you think truly deserves the ATL throne?

Interesting to see how this debate has spiralled out.

The reason I only included Gucci, Tip and Jeezy in the poll is because they all started their career roughly around the same time (Tip a little earlier than the others), have significantly influenced the genre and are now 10+ years into their careers and are still putting out music, to varying extents of success (the reason for excluding Luda is that his output pretty much stopped after 2010, 3 Stacks - despite his incredible guest features - because he hasn't put out a project since '06).

T.I. had an incredible mid-late 00's run and now may be picking up a bit of momentum for a second comeback (Da Nic was incredible). Jeezy also had a great run but his latest few albums efforts have been pretty sub-par. Gucci on the other hand seems entirely unpredictable. I liked Everybody Looking and I'm curious to see what direction he goes next. Obviously you cant discount his influence. You could argue argue that Gucci fathered the sounds of modern trap and drill. Then again, Jeezy and T.I.'s influence on those genres are quite clearly evident as well. The reason for excluding Future and Thug is because their careers started this decade. It'll be interesting to contrast their careers 10 years down the line (and obviously I agree that they're the current hottest thing in the ATL right now). But I see Future and Thug kind of like how 50 Cent and Cam were to NY in the mid 00's. Nas and Jay were still the kings but 50 and Cam were coming for their spot. We all know how that turned out.

Interesting note, T.I's leading the poll, with Gucci in second and Jeezy a distant third.

Nah. Young Thug is the best artist in Atlanta--and in all of hip-hop, to be honest--right now.

T.I.'s last album opened at #2 on Billboard. He went Gold in 2012 and in 2010--for an album of scraps and leftovers as he went to jail. I'd say he's still "relevant."

I love their catalogs and it's really competitive when you stack up what these 3 have done, I stan T.I so my heart says him but considering just his sheer cultural impact and creativity on the mic I say Gucci is the King Of Atlanta. Jeezy had such an awesome run I still play TM101 and The Recession religiously.

I agree with @Mano that I scoff every time someone votes for someone other than the options given, and T.I. vs. Gucci (and vs. Jeezy) is an interesting debate. That said, I think the "king of Atlanta" right now is very, very obviously Future.

I think Jeezy was certainly influential.

I don't see anything tying T-Pain to Future other than their use of Autotune. Future was using it to manipulate his voice into a slippery, bitter sound over drastically different beats; T-Pain was using it to sound clean and alien in tradition Top 40 pop formats.
