    Except Lil Yachty is wholly unique and one of the best artists to emerge into the spotlight this year.

    And in general can we quit calling people memes. Yes, they're trendy. That's a thing and has always been a thing. Calling things memes implies that its one big joke and everyone else is so dumb for playing into it when in reality it's just a popular thing you don't like.

    "Meme rap" certainly has a negative connotation, but Desiigner objectively is a meme. It's not inherently a good or bad thing. It's perpetuated by fans and detractors alike.

    The same publication gives run of the mill Keef tapes 7s by reflex.

    As somebody who fully expected to dislike this tape, that was a mistake. Some people have said that it's not fleshed out or doesn't sound finished, but I appreciate the way it abruptly goes hook to hook without any breathing room. Desiigner's strength lies in his energy and this tape is packed with it. Don't let the Future Stan in you ruin this tape. Better than anything him or Thug have released this year by a mile.

    What are you even talking about? The only thing that's shaping my view of him as an artist is that I don't think New English is good. He's a meme. Drake is a meme. Lil Yachty is a meme. That's how culture and communication works in 2016, especially on the internet.
