    "Meme rap" certainly has a negative connotation, but Desiigner objectively is a meme. It's not inherently a good or bad thing. It's perpetuated by fans and detractors alike.

    There is no conflict. I know people actually like it. I'm saying when people say he's a GOAT or one of the greatest artists of our generation that they're exaggerating. That's all. It's the same thing with Lil Yachty. I get it, I like Lil Yachty. I'm not judging it based upon some negative preconceived notion I have of him. I went in with positive expectations because I like Panda. I'm judging the tape because I think it's bad.

    Also, of course nothing about "his" current sound is unconventional, it's a all bitten from the past five years of chicago/ATL rap.

    No, that's exactly the point. Desiigner has a #1 hit and a deal with one of the two biggest rappers in the world based off of paint-by-numbers biting. His first mixtape--the topic of this thread--bites not only the dude his single bit, but whole regions that were popular this decade.     Because Desiigner hasn't done anything else. He blew up off a Kanye co-sign and Future biting. His mixtape is a fake drill tape from circa 2013. He's a kid, he's having fun, great. But there's nothing else to talk about with his own music, the only topic that's even half-interesting w/r/t all of this is the biting.
