Jun 16, 2016 Agreed here Meh, thats sequencing tho, im talkin the songs themselves; Highlights feels safe af & radio friendly, agreed on Waves & Fade tho I think the whole unstructured thing was unintentional tho. Feel like he rushed there a lil, put unfinished tracks on the tracklist & released them briskly while polishing them a bit so they can feel finished; i see what u mean on the way he expresses himself tho; also see what u mean on bonus tracks but still dont feel that they themselves are challenging; the rest regards the rollout tho, im talkin the songs strictly Again this covers other s--- aside from the diff styles thing which i agree with u on, im talkin the songs on their merits alone He did this on his previous work tho idf like thats challenging or new; the MSG was def somethin else but that still doesnt have to do w/ the songs themselves tho I see what u mean on a lot of it, but still feel that a lot of it is more traditional than ever
Jun 16, 2016 Everything i mentioned was challenging, its important to remind yourself that people often can't differentiate between the process and the tracks themselves.. which makes perfect sense with this album @King V
Jun 16, 2016 Because it's sleep inducing, sounds conformist, feels formulaic, stays repetitive, doesn't excel, misses depth in concept and expression, and gives little to no insight in Drake behind the public mask.
Jun 16, 2016 Everything outside the songs themselves is, thats without question. & yes i get the diff between the tracks & the process, & agree that the diff is clear here The tracks themseeeeeelves tho, putting every other thing aside, the majority, are pretty normal tho: FSMH 1, FSMH 2, Famous, Highlights, Waves, 30 Hrs, NMPILA, Facts, & a few more. They're different for him, some are a lil unconventionally structured, but i really dont see how theyre challenging or glaringly different/hard to adapt to (like his past s---, Yeezus, MBDTF, 808s were)
Jun 16, 2016 To that last question i'd say: they aren't necessarily challenging on their own, but in the whole of the album they do become challenging. Many of their differences start to conflict with eachother and that's the feeling that stings with a lot of people. But imo it just takes a little getting used to before they can be fully enjoyed in their own right.
