Mainly yes, since no one is technically controlling us physically, but no in a way, as a lot of people have some pretty s--- hands dealt to them at birth and often those can't be fixed.

That isn't especially linked to God

Christians,, Jews and Muslims actually normally do believe in free will

There just has to be a explanation for every choice you did to say free will doesn't exist. Because if you can explain something by causes, then it leaves no place for free will

I wasn't trying to bring that into this
I like to think we react more than we choose. There are some choices, but we're not completely free to do as we please and it's impossible to be. Most of what we do is simply in response to something around us or in our lives that is completely out of our control, and it shapes our path in a way.

My bad, when you talked about something physically controlling us I thought you were talking about God

Yeah but if you completely don't believe in free will, it means you think we don't choose at all and everything you do is a consequence of causes.

If you think 90% of our choices are determined, or even 99%, but we still have a bit of personal choice, then you still believe in free will

But why would you have 99% of your choices caused by influences and 1% caused by some magical uncaused own choices? I don't understand that and why you'd think that
