May 6, 2016 im sayin if its 1,500 streams no matter what, im right about the album being purposefully bloated. more tracks = more streams, i think its that simple if it was streams per track i think itd be different because having a long tracklist could spread the listens lin and result in fewer sales from that area but yeah either way, like i said, the numbers are very impressive
May 6, 2016 I think you could argue that since a stream requires so much less investment than a purchase, that MMLP/GRODT/Carter 3 are still much more impressive first weeks.
May 6, 2016 Recovery outsold Take Care & NWTS combined though. Looks like Views is selling 100k more that MMLP2's 1st week. But Views is not selling a million streams do not count as real sales.
May 6, 2016 That's true. Over a million in physicals is insane. Not really a fan of it being exclusive to apple for the 1st week. It obviously helps their streaming service out and prevents leaks but it kinda puts a ceiling on what he can sell.
May 6, 2016 Eh, I'd say the scales still swing in Drake's direction. All the streaming numbers (including retroactive numbers for Hotline Bling, right?) bolster it so much that it more than balances out the exclusivity. Also, anyone can buy it via itunes right? Don't have to be an Apple Music subscriber? And even for that there's a free trial. I dunno, I'm not trying to say it's not a lot of sales, but it's not staggering to me the way those three albums I mentioned were. Now if I were to argue against myself, the industry's sales numbers are so depressed across the board that you probably have to adjust for that.
May 6, 2016 Yeah from what I've read HLB streams are included. I agree though selling a milli in physicals is more of an accomplishment. Would be interesting to see what he would've done if physicals were available from day 1.
