Crazy!
See what happens when you're bored?? Ya type your name into Google, because you're feeling kinda nostalgic, and What The h---"... People are curious about your existence. Kinda flattered actually.
Well, its me. Goofy Gary (as Proof named me back in or around 2001). Anyway, I'm doing quite well. As some of you have found out, I own a guitar company and have been making guitars for about 12 years now. Marsh and I are still on great terms. We don't see each other like we used to. But life happens. Marriage, family, career. Its all cool. He's there for me if I need him. And I, of course will always have his back. I don't have a single bad word to say about Marsh. I love him like a brother. Always have. We've never had a falling out of any kind.
I typically don't like to put myself out into the media and coattail his name. I don't try to make fast cash off his celebrity. Too many people from his past and present do stuff like that. I think it's horrible. And I believe that's why he and I are still friends after almost 30 years.
I'm trying to make my own name for myself. But I do not try to disassociate myself from Marshall either. I find no embarrassment in being a part of each other's lives. I am not ashamed or embarrassed about being connected to any of the controversial things in his life. To say that, or to try to disassociate myself from someone's hard times and battles with inner demons, media, rivals, etc. would be incredibly shallow, and the act of someone who is not, and never was a true friend. He "owns" his past. As do I. It's the past. We all have one. We all learn from our past and it makes us better people. That's life.
Anyway, just wanted to drop in and say "Thank you" for thinking of me. I'm truly honored and humbled. I'm nobody. Just a guy with a friend who has a pretty cool job.

Not sure how much I'll add here. Or what questions I'd address. I'm not looking for publicity or anything like that. That's why you've never really heard from me before. I just kinda keep to myself and enjoy my memories and friendships I've made along the way through this journey. I open up about stuff to close friends on occasion. But I'm not really one to air it all out. I know Marsh has a bazillion fans with a hundred bazillion questions. And I could probably answer a lot of them. But this isn't my Q&A session. No matter what, I always feel out of turn or like its "not my place to say" when I get asked questions. And I think Marsh appreciates that level of respect for him and his privacy. Marsh has way too many blabbermouths around him. All celebrities do. I don't ever want to be one of them. Sometimes I'm ok with a bit here or there. But not really into doing an interview. I hope you all can understand and respect that.

No. No royalties. Interscope's people are pretty smart. They make you sign off on any rights before they release stuff. Or else it doesn't get released. So there are no royalties. They paid me for my writing and my performance on the track. But that's it. Nothing beyond a check for a job. Honestly, I kinda fought with Marsh about that. I kept trying to refuse the check. Because we are friends. And I didn't need to get paid for that. But he insisted. He literally forced me to take the check. He said: "You work, you get paid. That's how this business works."
Besides, I didn't care. Marsh is my friend. I was honored to be recorded and put on the record. When it comes to friends, that's what really matters.

No disrespect to the creator/owner of this forum. But I just so happened to stumble upon it through Google. Nobody brought me here. I randomly looked up my name in Google and saw a link where people were wondering what ever happened to me. Its kind of an honor to be thought of. So I decided to comment. But I do respect him for maintaining this site. It's not an easy task.
And as far as the prank theory goes.... LOL... I'd tip my hat to anyone who would go that far and spend that kind of time and money to make a prank on a web forum.
