    There's no way I could name more than 10 rappers who might be better than Boosie.

    @Narsh

    Checked out Future's "Monster" out while driving home from work.

    In all honesty, as I told @Soldier, I was impressed lyrically by the project. One of the songs that really stuck with me was the one where he's talking about the girl f---ing the dude in paradise while he's on her mind, so he could visit paradise, AMAZING lyrics. All throughout the project, I was impressed lyrically.

    I'll say this though, I just wasn't feeling the overall sound of the project. Not that I don't respect his vision, nor the fact that he pushes the boundary with experimenting, it's just not really my thing. However, I'm still going to follow the man, and I give him his respect, I definitely enjoyed the project and I'm going to continue checking these artists out. It might just be a generational thing, or it might just take some getting used to.

    Im glad you were able to pick up on what makes futures a great writer man, that's honesty what takes people the longest.

    Beast mode is a different sound by the way. A lot less dark. Part of why it's my favorite.

    Now I'm curious about ur take on thug. He's one of the crazy vocalists I've ever heard, and one of my top 3 artists of all time any genre to be honest

    He's somewhere in the top 15, definitely not top 3 anymore. UU is god awful, and TPAB isn't as great as people say it is. Outside of this forum, I don't know anyone who bought it or are claiming it's the best album of the decade.

    Definitely.

    He's slowly building an amazing discography, his worst album is at least great.

    Yeah man. You know what's weird is, as I've said, I haven't been the biggest TI or Lil Wayne fan, but I always checked and respected their projects, but over the past couple of months, I've relistened to their albums a bit more, specifically TI.

    So, maybe it's just a matter of giving it more listens than what I'm used to giving, initially.

    Every region of rap just has such a distinct flavor to it..their own slang, cadences, sounds etc. I've only recently started digging into the south and its quickly given me some of my favorite music ever

    I mean, you know the MA/RI region. It's pretty split, as far as people who are trying to be trap, and those who are on the 'real hip hop' train. It makes trap music sound god awful. I think that's what put a sour taste in my mouth, was the amount of shows I'd do, and these dudes were nowhere near Future's level lol. It's like the real hip hop guys trying to do their best Big L or Nas impersonations, but at least those impersonations are what I'm more accustomed to.

    I've been crazy ignorant to southern rap, even when I loved Luda, Outkast, Scarface, etc. I've always kind of shrugged them off, but I tend to do the same to West Coast rap too, because during the 90's, I really was pro-East lol.

    The biggest two names going right now are Token and Joyner Lucas in this area, in my opinion. I think Token has a lot of promise, mainly because he's so young (17) but I think he's going to fall victim to the whole "real hip hop" movement, which is a shame. He doesn't have any diversity to his songs, just lyrical s---.

    Joyner has a bright future though. He's been making some solid conceptual songs and creating a buzz for himself through it.

    i agree with that. also, i don't know if kendrick would be in my top three of the moment, but i think it's reasonable to put him there. untitled was really good.
