the one fade posted is a fan made remaster of the original, not an original nintendo release. doubt therell be any characters or story in the new one outside what the trailer said.

I appreciate the effort if that retro version of Paper Mario does come out but ehh I'm not too big on those different looks...

I definitely agree on that backtracking part, I love chapter 4 dearly but man you gotta go back and forth throughout that thing. I think I like the world, story & characters more on TTYD personally but the original feels so rewarding & straightforward, it's such a satisfying game.

yeah rougeport is a more interesting setting than the original toadtown, and the sidequests like the troubles and the pit are really great. i wish there was more in PM64 to do outside of the main quests and the letter deliveries, but it is what it is for the time and its still amazing on its own. i like the level design a lot more in 64 than ttyd mainly because of the backtracking, apart from the flower fields part i dont think there was much if any backtracking in that one.

and boggly woods a s--- f--- that entire chapter. the partner is the worst, the puni puzzles are annoying af, the ender was annoying as s--- to skip through his text, f--- that entire chapter

Truer words have never been spoken haha. I love every chapter on the original, even if it was my least favorite the Shy Guy Toy Box one was pretty cool. The final chapters are always on steroids, the multiple boss fights and the puzzles are all so great. If I still had my Wii I'd probably try Super Paper Mario again, it was pretty solid even if the controls and the world weren't as interesting plus the lack of turn-based battles was sort of a downer.

Yeah Thousand Year Door is A classic. Super Paper Mario is garbage. Taking away the Pure RPG element of Paper Mario is pretty much just making it another mario game with Different Graphics.

I will try Sticker Star though... Especially since people on here are saying it goes back to the Turn Based Gameplay.

oh make no mistake stickerstar is the worst in the series. they brought back turnbased combat but that's all they brought back. there's no story, there's no partners, there's no hub world. it's all individual levels on an overworld like super mario world or SMB3. the combat is based on stickers that you have to collect and each sticker is an attack, you wind up avoiding all the battles just so you have stickers for the boss fights. it's absolute garbage. save your money.

get PM on the eshop then i think its like 5 bucks for the original (and emulating it sucks), it's kinda expensive to get an actual cart of it. i think it was around 60 when i bought mine a few years back. but the first and 2nd are definitely worth playing.

i dont think this new one is going to be very well received lol, i love a lot of the game i have on wii u but this game looks just like sticker star 2 and that was well received by critics when it came out but universally panned by actual fans buying it. it went into the discount bin in like 2 weeks, its astounding to me that they're literally making a SS2 with this new one
