I think its ok if you don't like it, but disrespecting the album is not fair, especially if you know your s---.

like for example, some musicians still saying they don't like a single song, but they would still rank it among the best albums of the decade for its quality.
There's a lot of albums I don't like but I'd still aknowledge them as amazing albums.

Didn't kendrick say that he'll not make music like GKMC anymore and will continue going down this activist path?

I think his best has yet to come, but to me the bar is tpab. As I've already said, I never got the hype for gkmc, to me it was always just a decent album.

I'm getting old and I feel like I experienced one or two more generations of hip hop and like I've already said, tpab isn't just a rap album, it's more than that and I usually compare it to some of my favorite albums in any genre...while gkmc is just a hip hop record and I can't compare it to the likes of illmatic, reasonable doubt, LS, atliens, ready to die.

Gkmc is good when you compare it to the other albums of this generation, but I just didn't have that "wow" factor when listening to it, it didn't blow my mind the way Reasonable Doubt (or other great albums) did when I heard it in the 90s.

n----s wanna gas up Kendrick, who just dropped an egregiously overrated (that metacritic score is f---ing shameful) faux black empowerment album centered around the industry and corporate america pimping him as an artist, then immediately after release signs a f---in reebok deal (thinking he's gonna fix f---ing g--- related black on black violence with some f---ing overpriced corny shoes), then does a weak remix of f---in bad blood by Taylor Swift. Are you f---ing kidding me? That's the definition of hypocrisy. Kendrick literally doesn't do s--- to actually help minority communities on a tangible institutional and systemic level (cause that's the level where change happens)

You can tell he didn't have enough confidence at that time, GKMC really sounds like an album for the masses, it's like he just wanted to be popular before dropping his best s---.

thats exactly what I want from him. I grew up on hip hop and at that time, talking about what was happening in the world was the most important thing in hip hop.

And btw, I don't think it was a racially charged album, not at all.
