Jan 23, 2016 Tpab is literally the only kendrick project that wowed me. I revisited section 80 and must admit that it grew on me a lot but gkmc is still his weakest album in my opinion.
Jan 23, 2016 Most musicians (like myself) would ride with tpab any day of the week and its easy to see why... gkmc is "just" a hip hop album, to p---- a butterfly is more than that.
Jan 23, 2016 GKMC has more enjoyable music That's what made him one of the best in my eyes I know for a fact I'm going to be playing some of those songs for the rest of my life TPAB was a b---- slap in the face
Jan 23, 2016 What instrument do you play if you don't mind me asking? Woodwind? Strings? You a singer?
Jan 23, 2016 Really I'm not surprised as the recent gkmc hate, I wouldn't even call that hate, it's just that gkmc is for rap fans, while tpab is for music lovers (if that makes sense?) You can't blame a musician for saying tpab is much better when the album was made by some of the most talented musicians of our generation, as opposed to gkmc which was just a great rap album with no real influence outside of the hip hop sphere. It's almost like comparing Reasonable Doubt to a Kanye's album
Jan 23, 2016 Come have a better discussion w/ me here https://forum.sectioneighty.com/tpab-vs-rodeo.t51165/
Jan 23, 2016 drums, saxophone, double bass.. I'm not a professional but I have an appreciation for jazz music more than hip hop and tpab (s80 as well) did more for me than gkmc
Jan 23, 2016 Tpab was much more ambitious musically, gkmc had better rapping. But overall the music is always the most important so there's no surprise to see people suddenly hating on gkmc. I saw the exact same s--- on a lot of other forums.
Jan 23, 2016 Not to mention that s80 is getting revisited and more and more people think its also better than gkmc (thats not a new opinion though, the day 1 kendrick fans and the underground fans have always been saying that s80 > gkmc)
Jan 24, 2016 Section 80 is definitely my favourite album by Kendrick but I think it may have a bit to do with nostalgia and the fact that he was still relatively unknown but after hearing the album you knew he was going to be big.
