Tpab was much more ambitious musically, gkmc had better rapping. But overall the music is always the most important so there's no surprise to see people suddenly hating on gkmc. I saw the exact same s--- on a lot of other forums.

yep, and like critics said, you can have an argument for it being top 10 of all time in any genre. maybe not impact wise, but quality wise? definitely.

Not to mention that s80 is getting revisited and more and more people think its also better than gkmc (thats not a new opinion though, the day 1 kendrick fans and the underground fans have always been saying that s80 > gkmc)

Tpab is literally the only kendrick project that wowed me.

I revisited section 80 and must admit that it grew on me a lot but gkmc is still his weakest album in my opinion.

I think so too. I tried to avoid it due to the dickriding & praise but I can't front, this is easily the best album I have heard in a very long time.

I'm not a professional but I have an appreciation for jazz music more than hip hop and tpab (s80 as well) did more for me than gkmc

Really I'm not surprised as the recent gkmc hate, I wouldn't even call that hate, it's just that gkmc is for rap fans, while tpab is for music lovers (if that makes sense?)

You can't blame a musician for saying tpab is much better when the album was made by some of the most talented musicians of our generation, as opposed to gkmc which was just a great rap album with no real influence outside of the hip hop sphere.
It's almost like comparing Reasonable Doubt to a Kanye's album

Most musicians (like myself) would ride with tpab any day of the week and its easy to see why... gkmc is "just" a hip hop album, to p---- a butterfly is more than that.

they just feel insecure because tpab is being praised as a modern classic and true masterpiece in any genre

they also can't back up their opinion with good arguments so they can't say anything...and if they try to go edgy, there's always someone reminding them that tpab is gonna be celebrated in music while their favorite artist's work will get panned years from now.

People can love TPAB all they want, heck I love the album too.

What grinds my gears is the disrespect to the other Kendrick projects in the name of putting TPAB on a pedestal.
