I find its usually one or the other (super into old school and dismissing modern, or super into modern and dismissing old school) from conversations I've had with people in my age group. Which is totally normal. But I mean, I'm only 20, born in 95, and I personally love old school hip hop. I'd like to think I've done my fair share of homework on the origins of the culture as well, and all this only makes me appreciate the current landscape even more. I feel like it doesn't have to be one or the other, and I know there has to be others (around) my age that have adopted this mentality as well.

Jan 23, 2016 Everyone itt delusional af speaking as a youth who hangs out with only other youth, I can say with absolute certainty that kids today don't "hate" older rappers, the only backlash you'll see is people on forums getting mad at annoying a--- real hip hop heads. There's nothing malicious about enjoying your generations' sound over the previous one, that's been happening to every genre forever.
