Jan 8, 2016 I have a slight fear of dogs since I was almost attacked by one as a kid (My mom saved me ) My best friend in grade 6 to 10 had a lot of dogs so that helped me mostly get over it.
Jan 8, 2016 Never really understood the fear of the dark. Worst case scenario, you stub your toe trying to get into bed.
Jan 8, 2016 Sirens. When I was a kid and my parents would watch scary movies, they'd make me stay in my room, but naturally I'd have to come out to use the restroom and whatnot. The way our house is set up, the living room is connected to a hallway by the front door entrance, and my room was at the side of the hallway right next to the entrance, so I could see partially into the living room. One time while my parents were watching one of the Silent Hill movies, I pretended to go to the restroom and hid in the entryway, interested because I knew Silent Hill was a video game and it blew my mind that they made movie adaptations of that s---. So I happen to see one of the parts that isn't all that scary or tense, and when my parents go to bed later that night I ejected the dvd and took it in my room to watch on the PS2. So I'm like eight or nine and I'd never seen a scary movie before and our house itself still spooked tf outta me because we had just moved out of our apartment recently. I pop it in and start watching. Granted, Silent Hill isn't a particularly scary or good movie looking back on it, but at the time I was petrified. I remember all the freaky s--- would happen when the sirens went off in the movie, so I equated sirens with mind-bending horror. Lucky for young me, La Porte is essentially one big chemical plant with neighborhoods scattered between, and they do test runs every weekend (and have REAL accidents every now and then too.) So every weekend when I was out playing, around noon I'd f---ing dip and chill in my house because I thought some crazy s--- was gonna happen to me when those sirens started wailing.
Jan 8, 2016 I wasn't gonna include fear of spiders because that one's a lot more rational/common, but I also used to be/still sort of am terrified of spiders cuz when I was a kid staying the night at my grandma's I hung up my clothes in their spare closet and the next day a brown recluse had gotten in there and bit me without me even realizing. Some time later I had to go to the hospital because the veins in my arm were literally bulging out of my skin.
Jan 8, 2016 Nah worst case you got a home invader in the perfect setting to do whatever he wants to you
Jan 8, 2016 To an extent I still feel uncomfortable in strong darkness, but my "coping mechanic" if you will is thinking of sarcastic remarks to make before whatever would hypothetically be in the dark gets me
Jan 9, 2016 That thing kind of f---s me up too. Not the sirens themselves but the concept of there being a known certain point in time where horrible things will happen if you don't seek shelter by the deadline. I've had dreams about it and I couldn't make it inside in time. s--- is woat
Jan 9, 2016 Hum that odd not afraid of s when I was 5 going on 6 a German Shepard attacked my mom and my sister was in her tummy
Jan 9, 2016 The soundtrack is pretty great, But seriously this is the kind of stuff you sleep to if you want to induce a nightmare on yourself, and not the wearing nothing but underwear kind of nightmare... That's like using the x files theme to try and calm someone with paranoia...
