nothing really stood out on the first listen except the intro and the production was very underwhelming imo. -

I been telling yall Meez is average. No diss to him, but with all the tools he has around him and studios he spends time in, his beats shouldn't sound like a f---ing 3-4 minute loop with 3 sounds max with most generic a--- 808 baselines. And that first track, beat is f---ing off, don't know how they arent hearing that. Drums off the sample in left ear are hitting later than the ones he added. Smh, I'm disappointed in this project, but mostly because of production. It's hard to save the track just by rapping. Cozz did his thing, there are a few lyrical gems based off one listen. Give Cozz Ron Gilmore and Ced to produce for him like they do for Bas and he would drop a top 10 project of the year.Criza Malone Hamilton, Rowney, Lieutenant R and 3 others like this.Apr 5, 2026(This ad goes away when signing up) -

Overall, disappointed with this. We all know he can come WAY harder.. Cozz N Effect is definitely better. Maybe working with Cole woulda been beneficial

The mixtape still has its positives. His unorthodox flows and hunger are impressive. And he brings us into his past and personal life more on tracks like City of God, Grow, GWBW and Guiness. We are finding out more of who Cozz is. Plus no Cole on the project so it's good to see he's stepping out on his own. He wants to build his fan base without Cole holding his hand.
Grey Goose threw me off. It's not that it's terrible or anything. It just completely threw me off. He rapped his a--- off for a few tracks and then he's crooning. Also the singing on Choice Today and Tell Me caught me off guard. But he's taking risks so that's a good sign. He just needs to polish those risks more. Clean up the melodies a bit...he should only do a portion of the melodies and an R&B singer for the rest. It'd sound much better.
Production does seem too similar from track-to-track. Cozz definitely needs to work with a variety of producers for his next project.
Just like I'm Tha Man and Ya Know Dat on Cozz N Effect, his strongest assets on here are making anthems and bangers. Who Said and Tabs are fun and dope tracks. -
