Dec 21, 2015 You should read Pitchforks review on Camp by childish gambino. They barely talk about his album http://pitchfork.com/reviews/albums/16074-camp/
Dec 21, 2015 T&Y is very mediocre. It's an improvement on the previous two albums but let's not start pretending it's great just because it isn't Lasers
Dec 22, 2015 Honestly, it might. But regardless, he has a point. I feel like I'm getting a brief of who the artist is and what he's done recently before they even delve in to the project. Honestly, I feel like I'm reading the artists Wikipedia before the review even starts. A lot of these reviews read very formulaic. I noticed it on that top 50 albums WPG posted as well. He intros his segment on Ballin' Like I'm Kobe very well by providing some history on Lil Herb and keeping it relevant to the project before moving in to his review. But read the Sremmlife review and you'll see how bloated some of these reviews can be. I don't care if Rae Sremmurd has peaked, I don't care if they performed s-----y that one time, I just want to read about the album itself. Video game reviews probably get it the best honestly. The COD: Black Ops 3 reviews didn't use half of their words to describe the franchise's history. They just discussed the merits and shortcomings of the game. I dunno what it is about some of these rap critics, but I would rather read the opinions of the people in this community than a critic who uses a stencil to write his/her reviews.
