Dec 22, 2015 Kendrick has trouble with hooks. he has trouble with being subtle. those are two areas of songwriting he could greatly improve in. this doesnt mean he doesnt have tracks where he knocks the hook out of the park, or tracks where he tones it down to just the right level. it just means he misses just as much, if not more, than he hits in those aspects.

Dec 22, 2015 Kendrick doesn't stick to one formula or one style. The structure of all his songs vary and the tone/voice he decides to use depends on the emotion he is trying to bring to the song. I don't think it's something he needs to work on or improve, it just may be that you prefer his songwriting/tone/voice on some songs more than others.
